Zeru was surrounded by humanoid robots that were closing in on him.
Zeru dodged just in time as the humanoid robots launched their attack together.
This took Zeru by surprise, as these humanoid robots were far smarter and faster than the ones he had trained with.
While Zeru was focused on defending himself, the doctor stopped the bleeding, and Thomas approached him.
"How's the arm, Doc?"
The doctor gritted his teeth in pain, and he was very pale from all the blood he had lost.
"Please help me up, sir."
Thomas helped the doctor to his feet and walked toward the shattered glass wall, where they watched Zeru fend off his attackers.
"Agh... Sir, these robots won't hold him for long."
While the doctor was speaking, Zeru's swords ignited in flames, and he swiftly made a precise cut through the two humanoid robots standing close to him, causing them to collapse.
"Sir, these robots won't be able to hold him for much longer. What's the plan?"
Thomas glanced around, stood silently for a moment, and then chose to help the doctor sit down for a while.
"Zeru can't escape while I'm here. Our priority is securing all data on the AC project—nothing leaves these walls."
Thomas removed his suit jacket, rolled up his sleeves, and prepared for a fight, then turned to the doctor.
"Doc! Make sure the science team doesn't leave any data behind."
The doctor looked up at Thomas, a confused expression on his face.
"What will you do, sir?"
Thomas smirked, turned toward the broken glass wall in front of him, and said:
"I'll finish this up."
Thomas leaped down to the area where Zeru was fighting the humanoid robots.
As he landed, Zeru had already finished with them. The two stood face to face, locked in a fierce stare.
Thomas made his way to the armory, a room filled with a variety of weapons.
He looked around the armory, then decided to pick up a Katana from the sword rack on the wall before returning to where Zeru stood.
Thomas removed the sheath, threw it on the ground, and pointed the Katana at Zeru.
Zeru stepped forward, pointing his swords at Thomas to intimidate him and make it clear he wouldn't hold back.
Thomas laughed lightly and took two steps forward.
"Zeru, let's just talk about this. Nobody needs to get hurt today."
Zeru raised an eyebrow upon hearing that.
"I need to get home right now, and you're standing in the way."
Thomas sighed, his smile fading as a cold, serious expression washed over his face.
"You know I can't let you out of my sight, especially now, after everything we've accomplished with the AC project."
"I don't care about your stupid project. Let me out, or I will burn you and everything in my way to the ground."
"You're a simple-minded Zeru. You still don't understand what's happening right now."
Thomas swung his Katana a few times before continuing his conversation with Zeru.
"Over 100,000 experiments on both humans and animals over the years, with no success or even progress past the first step of the project—until I met you."
