It was Pencil's birthday, and of course, she invited her Freesmart crew to celebrate! While she had considered throwing a big party with lots of guests, she ultimately decided it would be much more special to keep it intimate—just her and her girls for the night. It had been ages since they all hung out like this, and Pencil realized just how much she missed their time together.

The party was at Pencil's house, with Bubble, Ruby, Book, Ice Cube, Match, and herself on the guest list. Pencil and Match spent the afternoon setting everything up: tables piled high with sweets and snacks, a glowing jukebox pumping out catchy tunes, pink balloons adorning the ceiling, and a punch dispenser filled with pink, fruity alcoholic punch, complete with matching paper cups.

"Oh my gosh, Pence-Pence! This party is going to be amazing!" Match said, wrapping her arm around her girlfriend and giggling excitedly.

"I know! I can't wait!" Pencil replied, practically bouncing on her feet as she stood by the door. She was dressed for the occasion, her silver gear earrings sparkling, and Match had even dyed her "hair" pink for the big day.

The doorbell rang, and Pencil squealed with excitement as she rushed to open the door.

"Bubble!!" she exclaimed, thrilled to see her longtime friend. But her smile faltered when she noticed someone standing behind Bubble.

"What is she doing here?" Pencil asked, narrowing her eyes. This party was supposed to be Freesmart-exclusive.

"I hate this," Fanny grumbled as she reluctantly stepped inside. She clearly didn't want to be there, but Bubble had insisted she come along.

"Sorry, Pencil... I was going to toyell you..." Bubble said sheepishly, fidgeting with her fingers.

"Fine, whatever," Pencil sighed, rubbing her temples. "At least she's a girl..." She hadn't expected Bubble to bring her girlfriend along, but she decided against making a big deal out of it. Pencil had worked so hard to repair her friendships and earn everyone's forgiveness—she wasn't about to risk losing them again over something like this.

Fanny smirked smugly as she walked in behind Bubble. It was good to see that Pencil was finally working on being less controlling. Bubble didn't deserve to be bossed around, and Fanny wanted to make sure Pencil and Match treated her girlfriend right. That was why she'd reluctantly agreed to come to this "stupid" party—to look out for Bubble and ensure everything stayed civil.

Moments later, the doorbell rang again. Pencil dashed over and flung the door open with a grin.

"Pencil!!" Ruby squealed as she jumped into Pencil's arms, hugging her tightly.

"Ruby!" Pencil hugged her back, grinning wide. "I'm so glad you're here!"

"Oh my gumdrops! Fanny is here! Does that mean I can bring a plus one too?" Ruby squealed excitedly.

"What!? No!!" Pencil frowned, clearly annoyed at the idea of more uninvited guests.

"Please, please, please! Can I invite someone? Pretty please?" Ruby begged, clinging tightly to Pencil.

"Ugh, fine... but who are you even going to invite? You don't even have— I mean, other friends," Pencil said, catching herself mid-sentence but still managing to sound a little rude.
