Nickel bought a ceiling projector for his and Balloon's room so they could watch movies together at night. He just wanted to do something special—something to bring them closer. But no matter what he did, the fear lingered. Balloon seemed to be drifting away, spending more and more time with Suitcase, and Nickel couldn't ignore the uneasy feeling in his chest.

He had to do something about it. And what better way than keeping a close eye on them—just to see if Suitcase was making a move on him.

Balloon sat cross-legged on his bed, a notebook in one hand and a pen in the other. He had been feeling especially inspired lately, jotting down poems whenever the mood struck. It helped that he and Suitcase had been going on long walks together, just talking about life. He had missed her a lot when he was in season 3 and she was still in season 2. It felt good to catch up.

But while reconnecting with Suitcase, he had been spending less time with Nickel. Before season 2 ended, the two of them were practically inseparable—every single day, it had just been the two of them. Now, the only time they really saw each other was at night, and even then, they hardly did anything together.

Nickel hated it.

The idea of losing Balloon... It sounded ridiculous when he said it out loud. Once upon a time, he would've given anything for Balloon to be out of his life. Now, he was the one desperate for his attention. And that made Nickel cringe.

They weren't even together. Not like that. At this point, Nickel just assumed Balloon was dating Suitcase. Why wouldn't he? They spent everyday together. And that hurt.

Because somewhere along the way, Nickel had developed a crush on Balloon.

Spending all that time together, getting close, trusting each other—it had changed things for him. He had never felt this way about anyone before. And he sure as hell wasn't going to let Suitcase take Balloon away from him. Not when she didn't even want to talk to Nickel. She wouldn't forgive him. How was he supposed to spend time with Balloon when she was always around, hogging him every second?

It wasn't fair.

Nickel had spent the entire day venting to Baseball, throwing around some choice words about Suitcase. He was just frustrated. Frustrated that she wouldn't forgive him, frustrated that she was taking Balloon away, frustrated that ever since she won season 2, it was like she thought she was better than everyone else. She wasn't acting that way at all, but that's how Nickel saw it.

So, he had decided to do something about it.

Bursting through the door, Nickel balanced something unsteadily on his head—a projector, one of those small ones that could connect to a laptop and display the screen on the ceiling.

Balloon shifted onto Nickel's bed, and Nickel settled beside him. By now, they were at a stage in their friendship where sitting together like this wasn't weird. After all, during season 3, they had spent plenty of nights sleeping next to each other, sometimes even cuddling for warmth. At this point, it was just natural.

Nickel pulled up ObjectTube on his laptop and clicked on a video. "Okay, now lay back," he instructed, already reclining against his pillow.

Balloon followed suit, settling in beside him and staring up at the ceiling where the video was projected. It was pretty cool, actually. But he couldn't help but wonder... why did Nickel even get this? It seemed so out of nowhere.

"So, what made you buy this?" Balloon asked, genuinely curious.

Nickel sat up and quickly paused the video. "Huh? Uh, because? It's cool! And now we can watch stuff together, but on a bigger screen!" He grinned.
