I stood on the back deck, constantly flipping to practice my roundhouse kicks. I'd been here pretty much all night and most people had long since left.

Hawk had gone to hang out with Moon and Miguel and Robby were doing their own thing. I'd trained with Demetri for a while but we'd recently broken off to train alone.

The stars twinkled above me as I went again, beating the crap out of my invisible enemy.

I had only made it this far by a fraction of a chance. I didn't have the leeway that most of the others had because if I didn't go to the Sekai Taikai then I had nothing.

I gritted my teeth and doubled up my roundhouse.

"Whoa." Kenny held up his hands as he wandered over, "Wouldn't wanna be on the receiving end of that one..."

I stopped and turned to look at him.

"Likewise for some of your moves." I chimed, "I saw you practicing your jabs over there."

He nodded then assumed fighting position, his fists flew out, 1, 2, 1, 2.

"Neat technique, try dropping a little lower, it'll give you space to dodge should you need to." I explained, analysing his fighting position and giving him the best advice I could.

He frowned then tried it out, ducking lower this time as he jabbed, 1, 2, 1, 2.

"Huh." I coughed as he stood back up.

"It works doesn't it?" I chimed and he nodded at me.

"Yeah." he looked back over at where Anthony was chatting to Mitch. "Why are you helping me?" he asked and I shrugged.

"I guess I think everyone deserves a fighting chance. I'm not going to gate-keep good technique just so I can win."

"That's noble."

"Really? I thought it was stupid." I laughed and he snickered.

"A little but its a good quality to have." He smiled weakly then started to trample away.

The sound of heels clicking drew my attention across the dojo as Yasmin walked through the gate. She stared us down politely but she looked in over her head.

"Hey!" she shouted and everyone paused to look at her, "Can any of you nerds tell me where I can find my boyfriend?"

Nate pointed over to the dojo and she pointed at him.

"Thank you!" She stalked over to the dojo, plucking at Anthony's gi on the way past, "Nice karate pyjamas."

I rolled my eyes and gathered my things together. I slung my bag over my shoulder and headed up to the dojo.

"Keep your eyes in your skull, she's not interested in you." I mumbled as I saw Anthony boggling after Yasmin.

"Uhm, she's with Demetri." he protested and I set my face.

"Yeah, I don't really understand that either but just don't get ahead of yourself."

"She's saying hotties like that are reserved for people like me, those with nicknames like Muscles." Mitch wiggled his eyebrows and I couldn't help but laugh at him.

"Keep telling yourself that and when it works out you can come back to me to prove your point." I patted his arm and he sighed.

"Alright, I think I'm gonna head out. Gotta get some rest in so I can kick all of your asses tomorrow." I joked.

"Oh, you're so sure its gonna be that way round and not us kicking yours?" Anthony chimed back.

"Good luck with that because I, am bringing my A game tomorrow, so you better be ready." I shot him with a finger gun then turned and looked at the dojo.

"Guess I better say goodbye to Demetri." As I said it there was a couple of thumps and crashes from inside and I raised my eyebrows, "Nope, don't wanna know." I grumbled to myself and escorted myself out of the dojo.
