-As much as you wanted to believe that nothing was wrong and that Grisha was just messing with you again, you knew deep in your conscience that something like that wasn't the case this time.
There was something deep inside you that was telling you that this wasn't normal at all and something was wrong. Very wrong.
Grisha doesn't text you so suddenly like that and especially with such a cryptic message like that.
You wanted to brush it off in the moment and try to pretend that the suspense inside you wasn't tearing you apart. This wasn't normal. Grisha just didn't disappear like that and go quiet when you tried to call him.
As soon as you saw his text, you felt the need to decipher whether he was being serious or not, because he'd done this before already just a couple days before and it had been nothing.
You knew that the best way to know what was really going on and the reasoning behind that message was to just to go his house and go check on him yourself and see what this was really about. Grisha didn't do stuff like this.
This wasn't like the other times and it wasn't like another one of his cryptic messages or jokes that he tried to pull on you like he did the other day.
He didn't send messages like that and just disappeared. You tried to tell yourself that it was nothing, but the feeling grew stronger the closer you got to his house.
You weren't being naive. You had this feeling clawing at you and growing stronger the closer you and Levi got to his house. You knew better and knowing your hunch was right scared the hell out of you.
You forced yourself to sit still, but your pulse hammered in your ears. Your leg bounced involuntarily, and your fist clenched hard enough to ache. You couldn't focus and your body was betraying you.
This feeling was becoming entirely too suffocating for you to handle it alone. You couldn't shake it, this wasn't one of those times where he's trying to mess with you is it? Should you believe that pit in your stomach saying it wasn't?
A crease of worry appeared in your face, and Levi only needed one glance to know that there was something that went beyond him at this point and had nothing to do with him.
Whatever you saw on your phone changed your demeanor entirely in the span of a second. It was concerning. In your head, you just kept reminding yourself that maybe it really was nothing, because he's done this before; the playful messages, the teasing, the jokes, all of it.
But as much as you tried to pretend that it was nothing and wanted to be annoyed he was messing with you again, you knew it wasn't like that this time. Grisha's not like this.
The only way to get answers and to be at ease is to see him in person, and despite the fact that you hated making Levi make two trips for you this late at night, you hoped he didn't mind.
His presence alone was a lot more comforting for you than he realized and you didn't know how you'd react if you visited Grisha alone when you felt this way. You needed an anchor, and Levi would be exactly that.
You gave Levi the directions to Grisha's house, but your words were minimal, short, muffled, and numb. You were clearly too into your own head to even tell Levi where to go in detail.
When it comes to Grisha, even the most minimal of worries and issues sent you into a spiral and you wouldn't be able to go to sleep tonight like you'd hoped until you made sure he was okay.
You'd honestly feel much better knowing he's messing with you again than him being in actual trouble right now, but you just really needed to make sure. All Levi felt that he could do was offer you silent yet reassuring glances your way even when you weren't looking.
