Before Sunrise: Preparing for the Day
1. Tahajjud and Dua
The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said:
"Our Lord descends to the lowest heaven in the last third of every night, saying: ‘Who is calling upon Me so that I may answer him? Who is asking of Me so that I may give him? Who is seeking My forgiveness so that I may forgive him?’"
(Bukhari, 1145; Muslim, 758)It is recommended to perform at least two rak’ahs of Tahajjud, increasing in number based on one's ability.
Lengthen the sujood and make sincere supplications to Allah.
Dua for Tahajjud:
(O Allah, I ask You for mercy from You, that You guide my heart with it, unite my affairs with it, mend my brokenness with it, purify my actions with it, inspire me with wisdom, and protect me from every evil.)
2. Making a Sincere Intention for Fasting
"Whoever does not have the intention of fasting before Fajr, there is no fast for him."
(Abu Dawood, 2454)Ensure the intention for fasting is made before Fajr in the heart.
3. Suhoor (Pre-Dawn Meal)
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said:
"Eat Suhoor, for in Suhoor there is blessing."
(Bukhari, 1923; Muslim, 1095)Consume nutritious foods like dates, oats, fruits, eggs, and whole grains.
Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated throughout the day.
During the Day: Worship and Productivity
4. Fajr Prayer and Morning Adhkar
Pray Fajr on time, preferably in congregation.
Engage in morning adhkar (remembrance of Allah) and recite the Qur’an.
Reflect on the meanings of Qur’anic verses to strengthen faith.
5. Duha Prayer (Mid-Morning Prayer)
