Halfway Through Ramadan: A Time to Reflect and Seize the Moment
We are now almost halfway through Ramadan. Time is slipping away, and each second of these blessed days is a golden opportunity—so don’t waste it.
Shaykh Saleh Al-'Usaymi reminds us:
"When you feel lethargic in Ramadan, motivate yourself by remembering that it is only a few numbered days. Fasting and praying in this month bring abundant rewards, and the opportunity for good deeds vanishes as time passes. If it is not seized, there is no way to make up for it. So be patient and make the most of what remains before it is gone."Be Specific in Your Duas
Yes, Allah knows exactly what you want and need—but show confidence in His generosity by making bold, specific duas. Your dua reflects your belief in His limitless mercy and power.
🔹 Don’t just ask for ease—ask for clarity, wisdom, and unwavering strength.
🔹 Don’t just ask for barakah—ask for provision that overflows and benefits generations.
🔹 Don’t just ask for healing—ask for a heart that emerges from trials purer than before.
🔹 Don’t just ask for patience—ask for a heart so content with Allah’s decree that trials feel like elevation.
🔹 Don’t just ask for guidance—ask for a path so clear that every step draws you closer to Jannah.
🔹 Don’t just ask for forgiveness—ask for Allah’s love and closeness.✨ Your Lord’s treasures are limitless, and your dua should reflect your trust in Him.
So ask for it all—because the most amazing part is that He will still give you even more. SubhanAllah!
The Power of Dua in Ramadan
Never neglect dua in this sacred month. Ask Allah every day and night for the good of both dunya and akhirah. One of the most profound supplications the Prophet ﷺ frequently made was:
**“Rabbanā ātinā fid-dunyā ḥasanah wa fi ‘l-ākhirati ḥasanah wa qinā 'adhāban-nār”**
(Our Lord, grant us the good things in this world and the good things in the next life, and save us from the punishment of the Fire.)Times When Duas Are Accepted
Certain times hold special significance when it comes to the acceptance of duas:
1️⃣ The last third of the night
2️⃣ During sujood (prostration)
3️⃣ Before saying taslim in salah
4️⃣ Between the adhan and iqamah
5️⃣ When it rains
6️⃣ The last hour of Asr on Friday
7️⃣ While saying the dua: لا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنتَ سُبْحَانَكَ إِنِّي كُنتُ مِنَ الظَّالِمِينَ
8️⃣ When making dua for a fellow Muslim in their absence
9️⃣ When visiting or making dua for a sick person
🔟 The dua of an oppressed person
1️⃣1️⃣ The dua of a parent for their child
1️⃣2️⃣ The dua of a righteous child for their parents
1️⃣3️⃣ The dua of a fasting person
1️⃣4️⃣ The dua of a travelerBarriers to Dua Being Accepted
To maximize the impact of our supplications, we must also be mindful of obstacles that can hinder their acceptance:
1️⃣ Associating partners with Allah (shirk)
2️⃣ Being impatient and expecting immediate results
3️⃣ A distracted heart lacking sincerity and focus
4️⃣ Consuming haram (impermissible) sustenanceThe Most Powerful Dua of Ramadan
If you could make only one dua this Ramadan, let it be this:
اللهم إنك عفو تحب العفو فاعف عني
"Allahumma innaka ‘afuwwun tuhibbul ‘afwa fa’fu ‘anni"
(O Allah, You are the Most Forgiving, and You love to forgive, so forgive me.)This is the most powerful supplication taught by the Prophet ﷺ, especially for the last ten nights, and particularly on Laylatul Qadr.
Ask Allah for the Impossible
This Ramadan, don’t hold back. Ask Allah for the impossible because He has no limits. Forget what seems “realistic” or “logical.” Instead, place your full trust in Al-Mujeeb, the One who responds.
Wake up before Fajr. Stand in tahajjud. And in sujood, pour your heart out. Ask for what you truly want, not just what seems within reach. Even if the world tells you it’s impossible—even if you’ve convinced yourself it can never happen—don’t give up on your duas.
Make dua with full faith. Cry if you need to. Speak to Him. Tell Him your deepest wishes, your hidden longings, your quiet dreams. He listens. He cares. And He responds.
May Allah fill your heart with hope, answer your prayers in ways beyond your imagination, and bless you with peace that lasts long after Ramadan is over.
Ameen.
A Heartfelt Dua
Ya Allah, I ask You to heal this heart that feels so broken and heavy.
I come to You with a heart that feels shattered, burdened with pain that lingers no matter how much I try to move forward. Ya Allah, You see me when no one else does. You know the silent battles I fight every day—the moments when I force a smile, even though my heart aches inside.
You see the nights I lie awake, exhausted but unable to sleep, drowning in thoughts I wish I could silence.
Ya Allah, some days feel unbearable. The weight of this heartbreak, the loneliness, the exhaustion—it all feels too much. Even the smallest tasks seem overwhelming. But I know You are Al-Jabbar, the One who mends what is broken. I know You are Ash-Shafi, the One who heals.
So I ask You, Ya Allah, to heal me. Not just from this heartbreak, but from the daily struggles that drain my soul. Fill my empty heart with Your love. Replace my sorrow with peace.
Oh Allah, Ramadan has come at a time when I truly needed it.
Ya Allah, You are the Most Merciful, the Most Loving, and the Most Generous.
Heal the hearts of those who are hurting. Bring us closer to You in ways we never imagined. We are nothing without You. You have gifted us this blessed Ramadan, so please continue to soften our hearts and allow us to experience a deep and meaningful connection with You.
There are souls out there who are struggling, who are lost, who are in pain. Ya Allah, guide them. Wrap them in Your mercy. Heal their hearts. Purify their souls so that when they return to You, they do so in a beautiful manner.
Ya Allah, please grant my dua. If it has no goodness in it, then place goodness in it. If it is meant for me, then help me attain it in the most beautiful way.
Ameen.
A Final Reminder
Halfway through Ramadan, we are reminded of the powerful lessons this month brings—patience, gratitude, and empathy. Fasting not only cleanses our bodies but also purifies our hearts, teaching us to appreciate life’s simplest blessings.
Ya Allah, accept our fasting and prayers, forgive our past, and guide us to what You love and are pleased with.
Ameen, ya Rabb.
Only Allah Ta'ala knows best.
