"So Daryl has really warmed up to Makena, hasn't he?" Andrea suddenly asks.

"Yeah, he has" I smile.

"Well, it didn't take as long as everyone thought" Dale said from the backseat.

I chuckled. I heard Rick honk his horn from behind me, and everyone pulled over.

We got out when I parked the truck, and went towards the group.

"Ye out?" Daryl asks Rick.

"Runnin' on fumes" he says.

"We can't stay here" Maggie said.

"We'll have to make a run for some gas in the morning" Rick said.

"Spend the night here?" Andrea asks.

"I'm freezing!" Carl whines.

"We'll build a fire, yeah?" Lori says.

"Ye go out looking for firewood, stay close, only got so many arrows. How ye doin' on ammo?" Daryl asks Rick.

"Not enough" he frowns.

"We can't just sit here with our asses hangin' out" Maggie says.

"Watch your mouth," Hershel scolds "everyone stop panicking and listen to Rick"

"Alright, we'll set up a perimeter. In the morning, we'll find gas and supplies. We'll keep pushing on" Rick states.

"Glenn and I can go make a run now, try and scrounge up some gas" Maggie offers.

"No, we stay together. God forbid something happens and people get stranded without a car" Rick said.

"Rick, we're stranded now" I tell him.

"I know it looks bad, we've all ben through hell and worse, but at least we found each other. I wasn't sure - I really wasn't - but we did. We're together. Keep it that way. We'll find shelter somewhere. There's gotta be a place" he tells us.

"Rick, look around, okay? There's walkers everywhere. They're migrating or something" Glenn said.

"There's gotta be a place not just where we hole up, but that we fortify, hunker down, pull ourselves together, build a life for each other. I know it's out there, we just have to find it" Rick said with confidence.

"Even if we do find a place, and we think it's safe, we can never be sure. For how long? Look what happened with the farm. We fooled ourselves into thinking that was safe" Maggie explains.

"We won't make that mistake again" Hershel reassures.

"We'll make camp tonight over there," Rick points to a burnt down brick house, "get on the road at the break of day"

"What if walkers come through? Or another group like Randall's?" Beth asked.

"Ye know I found Randall, right? He had turned but he wasn't bit" Daryl says.

"How's that possible?" Makena asks.

"Rick, what the hell happened?" Lori demanded.

"Shane killed Randall. Just like he always wanted to" Daryl said.

"And then the herd got him?" Dale asked.

Rick looks like he wants to say something, but is hesitant.

"We're all infected"

Everyone freezes, and has a look of pure shock on their faces. I look at Makena, who is trembling slightly.
