My girlfriend helped me come up with ideas so thank youuuu

---------------------------------------------------------------

My face is casted downwards as I make my way inside the music store that I frequent. The people working there have very similar music tastes to mine, so I end up going there often. A certain someone has greeted me there too: Erik. The man that I met about a month ago. I've never seen him here, despite him telling me that he comes here semi-often, but now I'm seeing him all the time. Saying it sounds creepy, but I honestly don't mind. He has a kind smile I can't get enough of, one that I always hope to see when I walk in.

"Hey!" He exclaimed excitedly as he walked over to me. He ran a hand through his slightly messy hair before taking it out to shake my hand. A soft grin rested on my face as I admired his smile. It's gentle and genuine. His lips are a lovely pink and they get puffier the closer to his mask. I always wondered what they looked like beneath the mask.

"Hello," I replied with a twinkle in my eyes. Every time we meet I feel a warmth in my heart. I've never gotten this close to a person in such a short amount of time before. "Find anything interesting?" I asked as I glanced at the section he was looking through a moment prior. He blushed slightly and stuttered out, "O-oh, I did! I...I found some albums that you told me you listen to. I've heard a few songs in each because of you, I quite enjoyed it, so I was thinking of purchasing them." Now it's my turn to blush. He wants to buy and listen to them more? I have never met anyone so sweet before. Music is his life, so he takes this very seriously.

Erik looked up and his eyes stared at my face in adoration. He takes the time to notice the details in my face makeup: my face cloaked in white, my almost perfect eyeliner, my black lipstick, and my black blush that is slightly higher on one cheek than the other. He enjoyed seeing any imperfections because it shows the creativity and human hand behind it. To Erik it's beautiful, for he appreciates the hard work behind it. He watched as my black lips curled up into a grin. "I'm so glad you enjoyed the songs enough to buy the albums. We could...go to my place and listen to them together...if you want," I mumbled, trying to seem casual. "I would love that," he replied with a delighted smile.

After a few more meetings, we decided to meet again at a coffee shop; the same one we met in. At this point we have each other's phone numbers, so this meeting is planned; for once. I waited for him at a spot in the corner that is more hidden away because of the plants surrounding it. Erik doesn't like to be looked at much, if possible, and I respect that. We have made this spot our usual spot, only rarely is it ever taken by someone else. I finally looked up once I heard the chair across from me scoot over the floor. Erik took a seat and gave me a shy smile. That smile I can't get enough of. "You gonna order anything before we leave?" I asked before I began to stuff the rest of my muffin into my mouth. He chuckled softly and shook his head, "No, I'm alright. I'm ready when you are." He fiddled with his fingers as I got up to throw my trash away, when I came back he was biting his bottom lip nervously. "You okay?" I asked.

He quickly looked up to meet my eyes and nodded, "I am! A little nervous honestly...I have never gone to a band's concert before. Only operas, musicals, or orchestras. The crowd is different from what I'm used to. It's exciting, but I'm a bit scared."

"Why are you scared?"

"Do you think my mask will be bumped off?"

I laughed softly, not in a mean manner but as a way to calm down his nerves. "Nah! And if anyone comes too close to you, I'll protect you! I promise. It'll be okay," I said, my voice going softer in hopes of helping him. He lets out a silent sigh, his anxiety leaving his chest a bit. "Thank you," he mumbled. "It's a little ridiculous that I'm anxious at all. I'm an adult, I can take care of myself."

"Hey, it's not at all. I mean it. I get anxious over silly stuff all the time, we all got our things to work through. Don't be afraid to ask for help, okay? Besides, goth people are sooo nice! Everyone there will accept you immediately." I pat Erik's shoulder, he tensed for a moment before relaxing. I pulled my hand away before I accidentally crossed any boundaries. He stood up and smoothed out his coat, "Let's go."

...

Erik and I headed to the theater in my car. When we parked in the parking lot nearby, we glanced at all the other people gathering into the theater. Everyone looks a lot like me with the intense makeup, black clothes with belts, chains, and gloves, and large boots. I elbowed Erik in his side, he turned around to see the grin on my face. "No one is going to look at you any differently. We all wanna chill and listen to the music we like. No one is going to judge you. Honestly, your fashion isn't too far off from us. They're going to love your mask," I say sincerely.

"Really?" He asked.

"Really."

The two of us head inside the theater. There are no seats here, only standing, so we found a nice spot near the side of the room. More and more people began filing in, so it's good that we already found a good spot to stand in. Erik had a nervous expression as more people came in, it seemed the more crowded it got the closer he got to me. Eventually, he moved in so close that he subconsciously wrapped his arms around one of mine. I blushed, Erik doesn't seem to have noticed his actions yet. I whispered, well more like I spoke normally because of everyone's voices, "Are you okay?" His eyes moved down to my arm, all at once he realized what he had done and then gasped as he pulled away. "Yes! Yes, I'm alright...thank you," he mumbled quietly, so much so I couldn't understand what he said. My eyes stayed on him in worry, perhaps bringing him to a crowded place wasn't a good idea. Before I could ask if he wanted to leave, a person walked by and looked at him with a curious glance. Erik tensed up immediately. The person smirked and said, "Cool mask. Where'd you get it?" Him and I smiled at one another as Erik relaxed.

...

The show went great. The band killed it and not a single person got too close to Erik. Things have gone perfectly. Whenever the band played a song that Erik knew pretty well, I noticed him mouthing out the words. To see that made me so happy, I loved being able to share something special to me and have my new friend love it too.

We arrived at my car and got in our seats. He let out a happy sigh as his back pressed against the passenger car seat. "The energy in there was so exhilarating! My heart still feels like it's pounding hehe...thank you for inviting me. Music is my life and I love getting to understand a part of your life now." He said as he tiredly looked at me. Parts of his hair stuck to his skin because of his sweat, his eyes were relaxed, and he had a warm smile upon his face, God, he looked hot. My thoughts scrambled in my brain for a moment until I was able to reply, "And thank you for going. I know I pulled you out of your comfort zone a bit there. That was the best concert experience I've ever had."

Erik's smile turned up even more. He let out a small chuckle, a hand ran through his now messy hair. "I'm glad to have been able to join you for that. I uh-I also had a question." His expression suddenly changed from a chill aura to more shy. "What is it?" I asked. He gazed at me only for a second before looking down at his lap. He started, "There is an opera I really love happening at the opera house next month." He paused and then gained the courage to look at me, "Would you like to go with me?" A gasp escaped me as I shot up, "Yeah! Of course! You got to hang out with me for my shit, now I want to return the favor. Opera has a pretty goth vibe, honestly, I'm so down for it." My response created a huge smile on his face, the biggest one I've ever seen from him. "Lovely," he mumbled, as if he was finally able to breathe. "I'll buy the tickets tonight."

"It's a date."
