I watched as Sirius and James teased Severus.

"Guys, stop! He hasn't done anything!" I snapped at them.

"Put him down!" Lily yelled. The boys rolled their eyes and set Snape down.

I turned to Lily. "What do people see in them? They're so rude!"

Lily smiled. "I know. It's because James is the star of Quidditch I bet."

"Whatever. Come on, lets get to Charms."

~A year later~

Once again Lily and I had to break up a fight between Snape and the boys. But this time was different. As soon as we helped him, he said something awful.

"I didn't ask for your help you mudblood!"

Lily recoiled as if she had been slapped. I gasped.

"Take that back!" Yelled James. "You take that back now!"

"Lily, I-"

"Save it Severus." Lily turned and walked off, with the rest of us following her. We walked back into the common room.

"Lily, I am so sorry about that." I said.

"It's fine," she replied, wiping away tears, "I've been drifting apart from him anyways. He's been hanging out with future death eaters."

"It's not okay!" Cried James. "That was awful of him!"

Lily smiled. "Thanks. I'm glad you guys look out for me."

"Can I apologize for everything I've done? I'm sorry for being so rude."

"It's alright James, apology accepted."

"I'm sorry too." Added Sirius. "You guys are cool."

"You're pretty cool too, other than the whole Snape thing." I laughed.

"Friends?"

"Friends."
