~Flashback~
"Hey, (Name)?"
"Yes?"
"Will you ever come back to Japan to visit me?"
"Of course, Yugo! I will every holiday!"
"Really? Thanks, (Name)!"
"Haha! No problem, Yugo!"
~Flashback End~
Yugo stared at the mail that just recently came in, addressed to him. He read it. He really didn't like what it said. His face was straight, void of any emotions. He finally reached forward, re-reading the letter.
Dear, Yugo
It's been awhile since I've seen or spoke to you, I'm truly sorry for that, but I've got important news. The Private School I was sent to in America worked out perfectly, too perfectly. Sadly, they want to keep me back on the holidays to study on large projects I have to prepare for the entire School District. I won't be visiting for Christmas. I know I'm sending this in October, but I'll be studying for months and working on this project. I am not allowed to waste time or communicate with anyone.
I know I haven't talked to you in a month, I'm sorry once again, but I've been taking major tests that settle out if I stay in this school. I do enjoy it and I wish you and Rin could see it, but you two are probably busy so I don't want to bother you. Anyways, this is the only letter you'll be seeing until after February.
Please give Rin and the others my regards, love (Name).
He set the letter down, lifting his head as his good kindhearted friend Rin walked in, holding bags of groceries. Her eyes light up at the letter.
"Did (Name) finally write to us?" Yugo nodded, handing her the letter as she set the groceries down. She held the letter in both hands, reading over the neatly written cursive. She paused and frowned as she reached the end, folding the letter and placing it on the table. She placed a hand on Yugo's shoulder, smiling sympathetically.
"I'm sorry, Yugo. I know you wanted to confess to her on Christmas." Yugo shrugged, brushing his bangs away.
"It doesn't matter. She'll visit when she gets the time." He said, standing up from the stool he sat on.
"I think my Runner needs some adjustments, I'll be out in the garage if you need me." Rin nodded, watching as her childhood friend walked away.
~Timeskip~
Yugo huffed, walking throughout the busy streets of Japan as Valentine's Day approached. She can't even be here for this stupid holiday. Yugo thought, walking down the shopping district. He glanced down at the list Rin gave to him when she sent him out shopping. Did she seriously need a bouquet of roses and lilies? A card too? Ugh, if this is for her stupid crush, I'm going to yell. Yugo thought, sighing in agitation. He slumped slightly and walked into a store he was instructed to go to, looking for said objects.
~Meanwhile with Rin~
Rin hurriedly rushed you into the apartment she shared with Yugo, rushing you into the kitchen. You looked around the familiar apartment and mentally noted it smelled exactly the same as when you left for America when Rin and Yugo joined the local High School. Rin sat you down and instructed you to write down everything she said.
"Alright, Yugo might be grumpy when he arrives, but I'm sure that'll change when he sees you." You noted down the 'information' and nodded as she asked if you got it.
"Also, I sent him out to get a specially made card with prepared flowers, it's your presents that you ordered." You nodded, a faint pink slightly gracing your cheeks.
"Oh, don't forget to tell him you love him." You rolled your eyes and nodded at Rin, lifting your head when you heard the front door opening.
"Hide!" Rin whisper/shouted, pushing you into the livingroom.
