"Is Luke coming?"
"Nah, I think he's going to get dinner with Skyler." Ash answers me.
Great. More time spent apart from her.
Maybe I shouldn't have walked out of that room but she clearly has these feelings for Luke that are greater than the ones for me.
And that kills me.
Me, Ash, and Mikey hop off the elevator and into the lobby where we run right into them.
"Hey are you guys heading out? You should come to dinner with me and Skyler." Luke says to us all.
"Yeah, yeah lets go, I'm starving!" Michael says.
As much as I don't want to go, I don't really have a choice without throwing a huge fit in front of everyone.
Off to dinner we go, with Skyler and Luke happily holding hands, strolling side by side right in front of me.
The whole time at dinner, I can't take my eyes off of her. She's so gorgeous, always so gorgeous. But there she is sitting next to Luke, not even once making eye contact with me.
I keep arguing with myself whether I should just let her go for good or tear her apart from Luke and lead her back to me. Part of me wants her to just be happy with Luke, like I know she will be. But then I know with me, there would be no settling. We would have this crazy kind of love that you only read about. I might not deserve her, but I need her.
Before we all get up to leave, I send her a text quickly.
Me: meet me in the lobby at midnight. I'm sorry, please please come.
A few seconds later my phone beeps.
Sky: okay.
I look up at her and for the first time all night, her eyes meet mine.
