Chapter 12

It's been about a few hours since Scott left and Kira is still laying down on her bed in the hospital. She couldn't stop think as to why Scott looked so upset after asking her such intimate questions and hearing the response he wasn't expecting. Was Kira missing out on something? She doesn't know the answer but she wants to ask him later. Her head still hurts a little but all she wants to do right now is go see her mother. Kira slowly stood up and she knows she isn't supposed to but Kira needs answers as to why her mother was in the woods that late the other day. Kira moves her head slightly out of the door to check if any nurses are around and then she walks out quickly towards her mother's room. "B186...B186" Kira whispers to herself as she tries to find that room number. "Noshiko Yukimura" Kira saw the name on the door and opened it to see her mom resting. Kira walks in and closes the door behind her and then pulls the chair next to her mom and holds one of her hands. Kira is glad that she is healing quickly and okay. Once Noshiko feels someone's touch, she opens her eyes and sees her daughter next to her with tears in her eyes. "Kira...." Her mom whispers and puts her hands on Kira's face. "Hi mom, I see that.... you're okay." Kira says crying and slightly smiling at her mom because she is glad to see her. "Baby I'm okay. You should be worried about yourself Kira. The doctor's told me you were in critical condition but you healed quickly." Noshiko smiles at Kira and Kira wipes her tears from her face and ready to start asking some serious questions. "Mom..can you tell me why you were walking in the woods at night?" Kira knows it was a bit sudden to ask but she couldn't wait any longer. "I honestly don't know..I felt a sudden odd feeling and I knew something wasn't right. So I tried to find the nemeton that night." "The nemeton? Why there?" "I just had a feeling that I had to go there. I don't know why I was walking there but I just did." Kira has never been so confused in her life. "I'm warning you Kira, something's wrong with us..our kind. Something doesn't feel right." Noshiko said slowly and she was so concentrated at the moment that Kira just stares at her mom. "....Like how?" Her mom didn't answer immediately but after a few moments she did. "It has to do with the wild hunt. Remember that your dad and I told you a few weeks ago?" Kira nods. "Yeah..but I'm warning you, be careful." Kira looks a bit surprised. "Why, what's happening?" "They're coming...for all of us and it looks like it's too late to back out." Noshiko looks at her daughter and gave her a look to make sure Kira understands what she is saying. "Mom...can I ask you one more thing?" Noshiko waits for her to go on. "Can any Kitsune become as evil as the Nogitsune?" Her mom was surprised to hear nogitsune in that sentence. "Nogitsune? If they are being possessed by one, of course. But if someone or something messes with the Kitsune's powers/energy, it will react pretty badly. The myth says that a Kitsune will have the urge to kill anyone that gets in its way." Kira's face expression didn't change a bit and she has her mouth opened, looking at her mom like thinking that what she is saying can't be real. "W-what if they have repeated nightmares about killing someone?" Noshiko kind of sense that something was off. "Kira, is something wrong that I should know of?" Kira takes a deep breath and sighs. "I think something is wrong with me..and I don't know how to make it stop." Noshiko tightens the grip of her daughter's hand and looks at her with concern. "Were you having these nightmares hun? Tell me what's wrong." Kira is afraid to tell her mother but she has to. This is eating her inside and she needs to tell somebody. "Yes...and hallucinations. Sometime I feel like my dreams are reality. That I'm really going to hurt someone I love. It could be you and...." Kira starts to break down. She cries and buries her head with her hands, imagining that someone she cares about could potentially leave her forever and that it's because of her. "Hey...I'm here. I will never ever leave your side you hear me? I will help you. This is not real, it's just a dream honey. It's going to be okay. " Noshiko takes her daughter in her arms and hugs her as Kira cries on her shoulders. "Mom...I think something is really wrong with me. " Kira then moves her body to face her mother. She sniffs softly and looks down at the hand that is holding onto her mothers. "I am always hallucinating about seeing blood when there's none. It feels so real. And what does it mean by being the messenger of death?" Noshiko was shocked to hear that. "Messenger of death? What do you mean?" "I remember Scott telling me that I was sleep talking in my sleep, saying Japanese words over and over. He told me I was saying watashi wa shi no shisha da" "watashi wa shi no shisha da...." Noshiko repeats the Japanese words. "Oh no...Kira.." Kira immediately wonders why she said that. "What. Why. What's going on?" Noshiko looks at her daughter, a bit afraid to be exact. "We need to leave Beacon Hills. As soon as possible." Kira looks so confused. "Why are we leaving mom? Tell me " Kira gets up from her chair and sits on the bed immediately. "The fox inside is up to no good and you need to leave Beacon Hills. We need to leave Kira..I need to tell your dad." Kira doesn't know why after her mother learning about the Japanese words, she started to panic. "Mom..where will we go? I can't leave my friends when there are threats to the town and especially to them!" Noshiko knows her daughter wouldn't leave her friends like this but she has to understand that this is what's best for them. "Kira. You have to leave if you don't want to hurt them." "Hurt them? Why would you think that? I would never!" "You will and you won't notice. Being called the messenger of death...there's a reason why you are saying those words. You will cause death in this town and we have to stop what's ever happening to you and it can't be here. It just can't honey.." Kira soon gave a second thought. If Kira is really going to hurt someone she loves, the guilt would haunt her everyday. Maybe this is the right choice. "Okay..let's get out of here. But promise me...promise me that we will come back." Noshiko nods and Kira gives her a hug and leaves to go back to her room. Meanwhile at Scott's house, Scott is packing some extra clothes and blankets because he is going back to the hospital to stay with Kira. Even if they aren't together because she doesn't remember them, he will always look out for her. After arriving at the hospital at such a late time, he knocks on Kira's door. "Come on" He hears Kira says softly and opens the door to smile at her, seeing that she looks very well. "Hey, I was thinking maybe I should stay here with you, so you won't get lonely." Kira smiles and nods. "Thanks Scott" She gets up from her bed and walks over to him to give him a friendly hug. Scott missed hugging her like this. It feels so good to have her in his arms. After pulling away, Scott softly grabs her arms, making her wondering why he did that. The two of them stare at each other before Scott slowly moves closer to Kira, making her heartbeat fast. Scott can hear her heartbeat rise, he knows that deep inside her, she remembers at least something between them. After both of their bodies against each other, Kira doesn't move and she wonders why Scott is acting like this. Why is he getting so close and intimate with her when they are friends? This feels so weird but she kind of likes it. "Scott..." Kira whispers while looking at his lips because that's what she sees in front of her since he's such a tall gentlemen. Just as he starts to lean down to capture her lips, she suddenly steps back. "What are you doing..." Kira felt like she shouldn't have done that but she did. "I-I'm sorry...I shouldn't have done that. I'm so sorry." Scott stutters and Kira holds his hands and looks at him. "Hey it's okay. Let's just pretend it didn't happen" When Kira told him this, he wanted to cry. He tries to hide the hurtful feelings he is having and puts on a fake smile for her. "Yeah, I understand" Kira smiles and gets on her bed while Scott sits on the chair. "You sure you are fine sleeping there? I mean there's room next to me if you want. I'm a small person so I bet you could fit here" Kira smiles, tapping the spot next to her while Scott slowly gets up and laid down next to her. "Thanks. Goodnight Ki" She nods and falls asleep while Scott looks up at the ceiling, wondering who did this to her so he could catch them. He is not willing to lose the love of his life like this. He's not going to give up. Scott is certain that he will help Kira with what ever is wrong with her and that this will be over. This fight. Kira will remember about them one day. It may not be today but soon.
