CHAPTER SIX: Matt The Creep

"In countries where innocent people are dying, the leaders are following their blood rather than their brains."

____

In the tumultuous aftermath of the detention-induced chaos, Luna found herself seated at a table in the library, flanked by an irritated Scott and a perplexed Stiles. Detention was never an enjoyable experience and, although she's only ever gotten detention three times, this particular situation had reached new levels of absurdity.

But Luna was trying to focus on the silver linings about everything that happened, the first being that Scott fought for her honour. And maybe that was a bit of a stretch but she was just gonna let herself believe that to ease her emotions.

The second, and the actual only good thing, was the realization that the small resentment she held for Allison was completely unfounded. After the ordeal, Allison made sure Luna was okay and gave her some spare clothes so she could change out of her wet ones.

And when Luna's hands went to the pocket of the borrowed hoodie, she found a small scrap of paper with Allison's number on it and a note about how Luna was always free to message her if she wanted to talk.

Sometimes all it took was a fucked up experience to build a friendship.

Meanwhile, Jackson, his pride wounded, muttered to Harris, "We can't be in detention together. I have a restraining order against these tools." He pointed to the table next to his where Scott, Stiles and Luna sat.

"All these tools?"

"No, just us tools." Luna couldn't help but interject with a wry grin. It was actually only Scott and Stiles but Harris didn't need to know and Luna didn't want to be left all alone.

The three of them were banished to a table far away from the others and Jackson didn't say anything to object to Luna's false inclusion in the 'restraining order' group. In fact, he couldn't even look at her after everything that happened, guilt bubbling up in his stomach over something he couldn't even control.

With an inward sigh, Luna settled into her chair, adjusting it to her liking as she joined Scott and Stiles at the designated table. As she tapped her nails on the table below, she couldn't help but wonder about the point of it all. Jackson was still in the same room as Scott and Stiles, rendering their separation meaningless.

But she held her tongue because, in the grand scheme of things, the separation was inconsequential compared to the fact that she just narrowly escaped getting molested by a brainwashed dino lizard literally fifteen minutes prior.
