Claire's POV

I sat there, jaw dropped.

"What does this mean?" I yelled.

He scoffed. No response. I was on the verge of tears. I didn't want him to leave me. I had lost the first baby, and I couldn't do this alone. I needed Owen, I needed him in my life. Owen walked out of the cave and disappeared to where I couldn't see him.

"Claire? What just happened?" Zach asked me. Before I could answer, mumbling came from the other side of te cave. I looked over to see Gray awake. I ran as fast as I could to him.

"Gray! Oh my god! Your okay!" I yelled hugging him tightly.

"My head hurts," he whined.

"I know, sweetie. It's okay. Your okay. Everything's okay," I comforted. I kept him in my arms, Zach on the other side of him. After awhile, Owen came back. He looked over at us, grunted and said,

"He's awake."

"Uh yeah," I responded nervously. He nodded and walked to the corner. Correction, the opposite corner from me. Owen fiddled with him thumbs, while I couldn't keep my eyes off him. What was he thinking.

"Okay boys," I said, "time for bed. Okay?" They nodded and Zach pulled Gray close to his chest. I smiled, weakly. After I made sure they were asleep. I made my way over to Owen. He hasn't spoken to me yet, or made eye contact matter of factly.

"Owen?" I mumbled. Nothing. "Owen?" I asked a little louder.

"What?"

I looked down at my feet.

"I'm sor-"

"Claire, I think we should cancel the engagement."

"Wha-what?"

He shrugged.

"It's for the best," he explained.

"Owen, please," I begged. He didn't say anything. "I'm sorry Owen!" I begged, now crying.

"Sorry?" He shrugged again.

"Your going to leave me?! Just like that?! Over a stupid fight! Owen please don't do this! I love you Owen! I love that you care! Please," my voice cracking on the last word.

"Claire, I'm sorry. I really am. It's just, not a good time."

"Owen," I said weakly.

"goodnight, Ms.Dearing."

Tears escaped my eyes like crazy. My Owen left me. I couldn't process anything that was happening. Owen Grady had dumped me, canceled the engagement, and broke my heart into a million pieces.
