March 2008
Delilah was wiping off the counters at home when her phone rang. Cole's face appeared. "Hey you." She grinned. "Hi. You busy?"

"Nope. Just finished cleaning my kitchen. What's up?" She poured a glass of wine and sat down at the counter.

"Listen, I'm going home this weekend. Well to Atlanta. Kyle is comin home. We are throwing him a little get together. I thought maybe you'd wanna come with me."

"Sure. Sounds like fun. When do we leave?"

"Friday morning. I got a hotel room. I'll book you one too."

"Ok. Cool. Anything I need to know?"

"Nope. My friends are goin to love you."

"Ohhhh meetin the friends...." She teased.

"You know what I mean." He laughed.

"Yea I do, nerd. I'll see you Friday."

"K.

The days flew by and before she knew it she was in a hotel room in Atlanta getting ready to go meet his friends for another night of partying.

"Hey, you ready?" Cole walked into the bathroom.  He let out a low whistle when she turned around. "Damn..."

"Oh hush." She laughed, playfully shoving him.

"I'm serious... Ever guy is goin to be lookin at you. I might need to beat them down or Luke will kill me."

She rolled her eyes. "OK, smooth talker, let's go." She turned off the bathroom light before grabbing her room key and phone.

They laughed all the way to the bar. When Cole had asked her to come to Atlanta with him to welcome back his friend Kyle from Afghanistan she jumped on the chance to meet his friends. She had met a lot of them the night before and they hit it off really well. But tonight was going to be different. Kyle was coming. And a lot of other people.

When Cole pulled his truck into the parking lot he looked at her. "Listen there is something I gotta tell you..."

"Ok." She smiled.

"My ex might be here...."

She raised her eyebrows. "Ok?"

"She is kinda still wanting me back...."

"Do you want her back?"

"No! She keeps calling me and no matter how many times I've told her I'm not getting back with her she doesn't get the hint."

"Ah...." A light went off in her head. She grinned . "I got it. Don't worry. I got your back." She winked at him as she slid out of the truck.

Cole grinned and followed her to the door. The jeans Delilah had on hugged her in all the right places. She was wearing brown riding boots and a blue and gray chevron long sleeved tee shirt. Her brown hair fell in loose waves. She was gorgeous that was for sure.

The bar was crowded so he grabbed her hand as they made their way through the crowd to where his friends were waiting. Callie's eyes lit up. "Hey!"

"Hi." Delilah smiled.

"You want a drink?"

"Yes, please." She laughed.

Cole flagged down the bartender. "A round of shots and two Miller Lites."

The shots appeared and Cole glanced over. Katie was sitting in the corner with a couple of people Cole didn't recognize. Delilah followed his gaze. She was looking in their direction. Delilah tossed back her shot and stuck her hand in Cole's back pocket. "Look at me." She said in his ear. His eyes turned to her. "I got this. Relax."
