Chapter 12

A month later...

Delilah was packing for her annual sorority trip when Cole's arms wrapped around her waist. "I wish I could go with you."

"Me too. But's only four days. Besides Heather is going too so it's not goin to be that bad." She smiled over her shoulder at him.

He released her and fell onto the chair in the corner. "I just don't like the thought of you havin to deal with them alone."

She zipped the suitcase and climbed onto his lap. "I won't be alone. Heather's always had my back."

"I still do." Heather came into the bedroom. "I always will. Those bitches aren't goin to start anything. They didn't dare say a word to me after Lil and Ryan broke up."

"See." Delilah kissed his mouth. "I've got Heather."

"Ok. Well the car is here to take you to the airport. I'll see you in Denver?" He asked.

"Yup. Heather too. She's comin out for a couple of weeks. Luke invited her."

"Cool. Why don't you go downstairs and I'll bring your suitcase down."

Heather hung back sensing Cole wanted to talk to her. "What's up?"

"Take care of her down there. She's my world, Heather. If they...."

"I've got it, Cole. They aren't goin to do anything. I promise."

"Thanks." He hugged her.

The weather was perfect in Cancun as they landed. Heather glanced at Delilah. "You sure you're up for this?"

"Yea. It's been two years. I've missed the last two trips. It's time."

"Good. I love you, you know that."

"I love you too." She grinned at her cousin. "Come on... it's time for us to cut loose."

As they entered the hotel Heather spotted Reagan and Trisha. "Oh here we go." She said under her breath.

Delilah steeled her shoulders for the confrontation.

"Lila, Heather. So glad you could make it." Trisha air kissed their cheeks.

"Us too." Heather responded.

"It's good to see you, Lila. We've missed you the past two years."

"Between moving, and getting my studio set up things have been a little crazy."

"No boyfriends, fiancée's or husbands? You did get the memo about this year being a coed trip?" Reagan asked snottily.

Delilah swallowed hard. "Yes we did..."

"I'm still single." Heather interrupted. "But Lila's boyfriend is working and couldn't get away. So we decided to make it a girl's weekend."

"Boyfriend? And what's is his name?" Reagan asked.

"Cole."

Heather grinned. "He's Luke's merch manager so he's on the road with Luke."

"Oh."

Heather didn't wait for Lila to answer. "What time is the mixer?"

"6." Trisha glanced at her watch. "Why don't you go get settled in your rooms. And we'll see you in a bit."

Delilah looked at Heather. "She's still a bitch."

"Always."

Delilah sipped the Cosmo that Heather handed her. "I can't believe that Gemma is marrying Kevin."
