You Will Remember

When you find the boy of your dreams
The one who makes you so happy
That you smile endlessly
You will remember the others
And be glad they didn't work out

You will remember the boy at the party
How he grabbed your hand to bring you inside
You were leaning up against him on the wall
But your friend pulled you off
She knew his intentions

You will remember the boy your friend dated
How much you liked him and she knew
And how you cried and cried for months
You don't understand why she got to be happy
And you had to be miserable

You will remember the boy who loved you
How he said he would never leave
And how he touched every inch of your skin
You gave him everything that night
And he took it all and left

You will remember the boy who liked her
How he changed his mind about you
And you were dating him for six months too
But once she was alone he left you behind
And it hurt so bad you could barely breathe

You will remember everything
Every boy, heartbreak, and sleepless night
But it will all be worth it that day
You find the boy who will never walk away
And will love you forever and always
