I Want Him Back

I want him back
I want his blue eyes to look at me and him to smile
And to wear his hat and laugh with him
I want to listen to my favorite songs with him
And twirl around him on the roof of a parking garage
I want to kiss him in the back seat of his car in a ferry parking lot
And I want to go on adventures
I want to get lost with him
But I have discovered
I am just lost without him

I want this feeling of sadness to fade
And for the tears to no longer stain my face
I want to hear his voice whisper my name
And his warm hands to touch my bare skin
I want him to look at me in absolute awe
And for him to hold me so tightly and never let me go
I want to be happy again
But I have realized
I need to be happy with him

I want him back
So badly that my stomach twists and turns
I want him back
All of him
Every inch of him
Every ounce of him
I want him back
But I know he will never show up at me door
I know he will never kiss my cheek again
I know he will never hold my hand again
I know he will never want me back again
