Now that you've grown old,

there probably isn't much left to do.

Day by day,

Your eyesight is clear but

your surroundings are not.

Night by night,

Your dreams still play along

but you no longer play along but rather watch.

Your children,

they see how wise you've gone

but they can see,

that you're slowly losing memories.

Slowly losing memories,

that aren't suppose to be lost.

Memories that you wish

could be in your head forever.

But you see,

It is not our choice.

It is the way of life.

But even as your mind and body deteriorates,

your heart will always remember

how much you love the people you've forgotten.
