We started investing in dad's company and as days passed by, the company regains its position.
"The board room is ready sir" Dad's secretary said
Dad stood up "Are you ready?" he asked me
Today, dad's gonna introduce me to the board of directors
"Ready as you are dad"
He smiled at me "Alright then" he said as we went in "Good morning" he greeted everyone in the room "I know all of you already knew what happened" he started "but we're back in business"
Everyone claps their hands
"But there are still things that are needed to take care of" dad said "So, I'm taking my son in law as the temporary director of finance" he said as I stand beside him
Everyone in the room looked at me, then "Are you sure about that?" one said
"We cannot let someone like him hold on with our finances. We cannot let this company down again" another one said as the room gets noisier
"Please calm down" Dad said "Everyone, please be quiet for a moment"
"I disagree about him" another one said
"I said, be quiet!!!" dad yelled as everyone stop talking "Thank you" he added as he looked at them "I know you would disagree with it but Zhan helped this company. He was the one who invested a lot of money for this company to rise again"
"How can that be possible?" one said as he laughed "He never even graduated High school"
"Well, I'll tell you why" One person from the back said as she stood up. It was Director Sofia "He's smart and dedicated to his work. I think all of you don't know that this man in front of you is the owner of Golden Bean Café. It was just a small café two years ago, but now, it is the largest and popular café in town. In just a small time, he made that small business grows and I believe he can make this company grow as well. You have my support, director" she said as she smiles at me
I smiled back "I know a few of you have doubts about me, but I will never let this company down like what has happened. Please trust me" I said and bow to them
"Well... you said it's just temporary... then show us what you got, director" Another one said
"Are we agreeing on this?" Dad said
"Alright, let him be" one agreed
And seems the other agreed too as they nodded.
"Thank you" I said
"Well, welcome to the company, director"
I smiled "Then let's get to business" I said
I started sorting all the problems left in the company, especially within the accounting department. Rico was surprised to see me again. He apologizes for the ignorance he made but I know it wasn't his fault. He really doesn't have any idea. I talked to all the people under my department and trained them as best as I can. Dad was there to support and help me and so is Director Sofia.
I closed my eyes for a while after long hours of looking at the computer
"So tiring for your first day?" I heard Director Sofia said as I opened my eyes. She brought some coffee and put it in my desk. It's from the Golden Bean Café...
"Your coffees are the best" she said as she sipped her coffee
"Thank you" I said as I took mine
"Thanks for what? For the coffee or for what happened in the boardroom?"
"Both" I answered "You helped me a lot in there. It is because of you that they agreed on me being a temporary director"
