A New Start

Chapter 15

Jillian's POV
Where are they?! They were supposed to be back by now. They said they were gonna go do they water slide and then the lazy river. It's been 3 hours! 3 HOURS I TELL YOU! I'm starting to get worried because I can't drive home because I CANT EVEN WALK.... And I'm not calling a cab, so...

I was hungry because I refused to eat without them, not like I could. I was sick to my stomach with worry. I had gone to every shop looking for them. Nothing. I now sat at a park bench in front of a gushing water spout, pondering what could've become of them. They could be dead, for all I know.

I left my phone in the car, so calling them wasn't an option. I sat there waiting, starting to worry like crazy.
I was on the verge of tears when a man at next to me on the bench. He was old, and he looked worn, but his featured were soft. He seemed kind.
"You ok young lady?" He asked softly.
I smiled a little at the man. "I'm ok. I just can't find my friends."
"Hmm maybe I can help...?" He said.
"I have no idea where to look." I said, shrugging my shoulders.
He nods.
"Do they have their phones with them?"
"One of them might." I reply.
"You need a phone to use?"
"Yes sir."
As he digs in his pocket, I couldn't help but question. "With all due respect, but why are you helping me?"
"You remind me of someone special...."
"I do? Who?" I ask, enjoying the mans presence.
"My wife when she was younger." He said smiling softly as he hands me the phone.
"What was she like?" I look at the water in front of us
"She was so sweet."
I smile at the old mans words. "What was her name?"
"Daisy." He says smiling back softly
I chuckle, "That's a beautiful name..."
He nods.
"Let's find your friends."
I nod and first dial Venus.
The phone rings but no answer. I sigh. Next I try calling Finn. As it rang, I watched the people hurry by. The phone rings but again no answer. I frown. Luke better have his stupid phone... I dial his number, praying someone will pick up. It rings and rings. Then, someone answers but it wasn't Luke.
"Hello?" I say quietly. The old man looks at me curiously.
"JILLIAN!"
"Venus! Where are you guys?! I've been looking for hours?!" I cried.
"We've been looking for you! We were so worried!" Venus says back.
I frowned, "I've been looking for you?"
"Where are you?"
"I'm in front of the fountain, on a bench."
"Ok we are on our way stay there!" She tells me as she hangs up.
I sigh, frustrated but relieved. "Thank you so much for helping me." I turn to te old man.
"No problem." He says smiling and getting up after I give him the phone back.
I watch as he walks away. I smile, and hope he has someone to go home to.
Venus walks up and hugs me tightly.
"Where have you been?!" I said loudly.
"Looking for you around the lazy river!"
"I passed by there like 3 times!" I say shaking my head.
"We were looking everywhere!"
I let out a breath, getting upset.
Luke comes rushing over and hugs me.
"Baby I'm so glad you're okay!"
I hug back tightly. "What have you been doing?" I mumble.
"Looking for you!"
I see Finn and Dylan hurry over as I let Lucas go.
"We are so glad you are alright!" He exclaims.
"Yea, this man let me use his phone, and he talked to me. He was very nice."
"Did you get his name?" They ask softly.
I facepalm. "I'm so stupid! No!"
"It's ok it's ok calm down."
"You don't understand," I complain. "He was so nice and he helped me out."
"Ok baby you wanna go find him?"
"No that'd be impossible."
"Ok... Baby...."
I watch my friends exchange glanced.
"We can try..."
I nod. "Where would we even start?"
"By calling the number...."
"Ok, try that."
I call the number again. After 3 rings there was an answer.
"Hello..."
"Hi. This is the girl you helped. I just wanted to ask you you're name, and thank you for helping me."
"Oh hi!
"So, your name?" I say, smiling into the phone.
"Franklin."
"Well, Franklin, thank you so much. I would have been lost without you!"
"You're so welcome."
"Call me when ever you're bored, Franklin! I owe you."
He chuckles softly.
"Bye. Have a great day."
He says bye and hangs up.
"He seems nice!"
I chuckled. "He seems like a grandpa!"
They all smile.
"Well, let's go, I guess."
We all nod as Luke carries me back to the car. As we ride home, I look out the window. Luke rubs my hand softly. I smile at him as Venus tells a story about the lazy river. Luke smiles and pecks my face. When we get home, we change out if our swimsuits. The boys run around in their underwear yelling about things. I laugh as Venus try to catch them, screaming at them.
"Boys! Calm down! Ugh!"
I got up and hopped in front of them, trying to act like an obstacle. They skidded to a stop.
"Thank you Jillian!"
I giggle as the boys go off to get their clothes.
"What's for dinner?" I ask my best friend.
"Hmm well I was thinking about making chicken pot pie... That ok with you?"
"YES!" I shout, causing Blue to bark.
The boys come running back down in shorts this time.
"That's better." Venus and I say at the same time.
We both laugh and walk into the kitchen to start making dinner.
"What do you want me to do?" I ask Venus.
"You can just sit or you can open the cans."
"I love opening cans!" I enthusiastically say.
Venus chuckles.
"You don't have to."
I shake my head and grab the cans as she lists them.
"Cream of chicken, cream of potato, cream of celery and chicken broth."
"There ya go." I drop the cans in the counter.
"Thank you Jilli!"
I smile as I start opening the cans as she presses the dough. She smiles back and mixes the things together as I open the cans.
"There's the last one."
I hand her the last one. She pours it into the bowl and mixes it putting it into the pan. I set the oven as Finn walks in. Finn walks over to Venus and smiles and whispers in her ear. Venus giggles and blushed. I act like I'm not paying attention, focusing on pulling out seasonings. I put the pie in the oven and set a timer. I twirled around and did a little bow to Venus. She chuckled and squealed as Finn picked her up.
"You're gonna drop me!
They run out of the kitchen and I stand there bored. She screams and giggles as Luke walks in the kitchen.
"What smells good?" He smiled.
"Dinner." I say smiling.
"Elaborate?" He laughs, getting a drink.
"It's chicken pie."
He raises an eyebrow. "Sounds good. Now come on while it bakes."
I get up and walks with him. Everyone was sitting in the den. Venus is sitting on Finn's lap and Lucifer was in Dylan's lap.
"Where's Blue?"
As I say that he comes running in from outside. I smile.
"Hey buddy! How are ya!"
He barks and shakes his tail. I pick him up then sit down. He cuddles up to me.
"Boreeeeedd" I groan.
"Let's do something then!" Dylan says.
"Finally!" I exclaim. Faith jumps onto Luke's lap.
"What y'all wanna do?" Dylan asks.
"Sleep," mused Lucas.
I rolled my eyes.
"Besides that idiot!" Dylan yells.
Luke mocked hurt. "I am offended!"
"Sorry dude." Dylan apologizes.
"Well, we could watch the news?" Finn said.
"BB that's not fun." Venus says softly.
I snicker. "Maybe not, yea?"
"Shh!"
I turn on the tv and change it to the news channel. Venus gets up and check on the pie.
"How long?" Jillian called.
"25 minutes!"
"Uugghh!"
"Sorry! Goodness child."
I cackled, trying to make everyone laugh. Everyone at least smiles while some burst out laughing. A firetruck goes bye, and the dogs start howling. We all join in, and soon we're all laughing and howling. We all end up on the floor rolling around. Blue got on my face and licked and snuffed. We laugh. The oven goes off and I get up and wipe my face. Venus got up, too. I help Venus pull the pie out and shut the oven, turning it off. Venus set the pie on the kitchen table as well as plates and forks. I called everyone to the table and we gathered around.
"Should we say grace?" Venus asks softly.
I smile. "That's be nice."
She nods and tells everybody to grab hands as she starts saying grace. I bow my head and listen until she finished, then I chimed with everyone saying amen. She puts her head and puts some chicken pot pie on everyone's plate. We eat in comfortable silence. We go back for a little more of Venus's amazing chicken pot pie.
"So we'll feed the animals after dinner?" I asked Venus has she sat back down.
"Yes."
I nod and take a bite. She nods and finishes and takes her plate to the sun and washes it. I finish and help her while the boys chat. We finish and go to sit in the living room. I yawn and glance at the clock. I decide it was time to  feed the mass. Venus and I fed the dogs and the cat. I throw myself onto the couch and Lucas laughs. Venus goes upstairs and returns wearing really cute pjs. I whistle and Finn joins in. I laugh while the tv rambles about some fire. She smirks.
"Thank you I know I'm hot!"
"I'm gonna change to," I sat getting up.
"Ok hurry back babe." Lucas calls after her.
I smile as I climb the stairs. When I come back down, I see Venus sleeping in Finn's lap. I silently aw and go to turn off the kitchen light. She cuddles close to him. Dylan must if gone to his room, as he was no where to be found. I grab Luke and Blue and go upstairs. Finn stands up carrying Venus upstairs and into their bedroom. We all get ready for bed and say our good nights.

Dylan's POV
"VENUS! JILLIAN! Come here! The boys and I have an idea" I yell up the stairs.
Jillian is the first to appear at the top if stairs. Her hair sticking up everywhere was hilarious enough, but the look on her face made me laugh. Venus slowly made her way downstairs covered in blankets.
"What do y'all want?" She said like she was mad.
"Well I think we should do it if...." Venus said smirking.
I know this shouldn't be good if she's smirking.
"If what?" I said nervously.
"If y'all go with us to get a dress and look good for tonight." Venus said.
Jillian nods enthusiastically.
"Yes, and shoes."
"Ohh and we can go get our nails done!"
Venus says excitedly. Jillian gets up and jumps. Finn, Luke and I were okay with it before the nail part.
"We can get our hair done, too!"
Jillian says excitedly.
The boys and I sigh in unison. This was gonna take a while. The girls seemed happy though so we're gonna go along with it. I stand up and announce that we need to get ready. The girls run upstairs to get ready. I can hear the girls giggling in the other room.
When we all meet downstairs, the girls are wearing some cute clothes I have to admit. Venus is wearing a lace crop top with high waisted shorts. Jillian was wearing a black tank top, a long sleeve flannel over that, and with high waisted shorts.  I was wearing basketball shorts and a tshirt that said something silly on it. Jillian didn't hesitate to mention it. Finn and Luke wore similar things but their shirts said something about being taken.
"So, what's the plan?" Venus asked.
"Well we are gonna go to go get the dresses or pick them out. Then we will go get our hair and nails done!" Jillian says happily.
"Then, we'll head out somewhere and eat. There's also this party down at an old friends house if your interested." I continued. The girls nod.
"Ok well let's go!" Venus says enthusiastic
"I guess I probably won't have to worry about shoes..." Jillian says, glancing at her foot
"Sorry Jelly..."  Venus says.
Jillian waves it off. "Oh well, more money for clothes then!"
"You can borrow some from me..." Venus says to Jillian.
"I only need one, yea?" She giggles 
Venus smiles.
"I have some pretty cute shoes, too!"
I turn to the boys.  They look at us.
"Let's go cuties!" I say to everyone.
After everyone has pulled themselves together, we pile into Venus's jeep.  We talk and talk and decide that we are gonna stop by the party after our dinner reservations. Our first stop! Food!!!
