**Reece's POV

"Good afternoon, Mrs. Montenegro. I'd like you to meet, Dr. Francis Tiu. He will be handling Mr. Montenegro's surgery." Pagpapakilala ko. Naka-schedule na ang operation in three days at bakas sa mukha ni Mrs. Montenegro ang galak. Dr. Tiu, a heart transplant expert, started to slowly explain the pros and cons of the operation.

Looking at my girlfriend's mother, I feel somewhat connected. I can see the warmth in her eyes the way I looked at Boni. What would be her reaction when she finds out that I'm dating her daughter?

Biglang nag-vibrate ang beeper ko signalling a message. I was about to take a glimpse of the screen pero natigilan na lang ako nang marinig ko ang pangalan ko na nabanggit ni Dr. Tiu.

"---Dr. Gray will be with me through out the operation."

"The surgery would hopefully take at least four hours or so, Mrs. Montenegro." I added.

"I've read a few articles about the life expectancy of a Heart Transplant patient..."

"I believe in the power of prayers, Mrs. Montenegro." Singit ni Dr. Tiu. I nodded agreeing with him.

"There's a living proof of this operation and it has been 30 years since he went through it." She went calm upon hearing what I said.

"Thank you.." She whispered almost in a verge of tears.

"Keep on having faith, Mrs. Montenegro. After this, you'll be having your husband back." I gave her an encouraging smile.

Afterwards, I excused myself to visit the other patients.

"Dr. Gray? Tumawag po si Dr. Lopez, may referral raw po siya sa ER." Ika ng Nurse na naghihintay sa akin sa labas ng pintuan. 

"Okay." Sagot ko at tumungo na doon. I took a deep breath when I saw the time. Nalipasan na ako ng gutom.

Nakarating na ako sa ER at hinanap si Erica. Nakita ko ulit itong kasama iyong PGI na pinagseselosan ni Dr. Sy.

"You needed me?" My eyes focused at the old woman lying on the hospital bed. My brain automatically assessed the patient.

"59 years old presenting a Valvular heart disease. With a thyroid disorder, hypertension, and recent heavy drinking of alcohol." Napatingin kami pareho sa pasyente.

"Nakuhanan na ba ng dugo for Laboratory?" I checked the patient's pulse and her heart beat.

"STAT results for D-dimer, CPK-MB, Trop I, CBC, Potassium..." Binasa ng kaibigan ko ang ni-request nito.

"Coagulation Study? PT with INR. I also need that result." At biglang nag-seizures ang pasyente. I mentally sighed. Applauding Erica for giving me tough cases here in ER. Nabasa ata nito ang nasa isip ko at nginitian lang ako. This will be a very tough day.

Pagkatapos mailipat sa ICU ang pasyente, nilapitan na ako ni Erica.

"What do you think of it?" Nagsusulat ito sa hawak hawak niyang chart ng bagong admitted na pasyente niya.
