Nova Rijn

My legs took me to the end of the hallway, where I stopped, out of breath. I swiped my hair out of my face and put some strands behind my ear.

Where did I have to go, again?

Enter a tunnel, go right and into the woods? Or did I have to go right first, then into a tunnel and end up in the woods?

I started breathing faster and was slightly starting to panic. What if I got lost?

I looked around in panic, looking for a way out: and I found one.

A big blanket was hanging against the rock wall and I walked towards it. I ripped the blanket off.

A long, dark corridor appeared. I bit my lip, not sure if this was such a good idea.

But what choice did I have?

I took a deep breath before stepping into the darkness. I let my hands slide over the wall. A soft yelp escaped from my mouth when my hand slid over something sharp and warm fluid streamed down my hand.

"God damn it, shit, what the fu-"

Multiple colorful words came out of my mouth while I walked through the pitch-black tunnel in a fast pace.

'Nova?'

I jumped and looked around in bewilderment. Where had that voice come from? Fear started bubbling in me, although a small voice in my head told me that this wasn't a threat.

'Beautiful?'

Warm tingled formed in my belly while my cheeks turned a cute pink. What was happening to me?

'Babe?'

My eyes peered through the darkness, trying to find the source of the voice- even though I knew that it was probably coming from inside my head.

This was the time: I was finally losing my mind.

"Fuck!" I cursed again when I bumped my foot into something, almost causing me to fall over.

'Nova!'

After that the voice became silent, and I was walking through the dangerous tunnel in silence again- with no idea whatsoever about where to go.

-

For how long had I been walking?

Was I going the right way?

Puck?

Questions, thousands of them, with no answers were swirling in my head.

My hand was pounding and blood was still coming out. It was starting to hurt more.

I carefully shuffled through the corridor and it became lighter, which meant that the end was near.

And I was right, like I always was.

At the last part of the tunnel, sunrays seeped through a wooden door.

I didn't hesitant a moment and pulled the door open. I had expected it to be a lot more difficult. Not that I was complaining.

The door flew open and there I was: in the doorway, in the middle of an unknown forest. A forest that possibly contained unknown, supernatural creatures.

Great.

I decided that I would rather be eaten by bears than go back to that awful cell and hear that terrible screaming.

I quickly stepped outside, but two seconds later I was already surrounded by furiously growling wolves who all bared their teeth at me.

"Uhh..." I stammered and wanted to turn back around. That cell was starting to sound more appealing.

"Mine!"

I abruptly turned around, to look into the most beautiful eyes I had ever seen.

"Hey," I sheepishly smiled, while I took a step backwards- just to be sure.

"Beautiful," Jacob breathed and I let my eyes slide over his bared upper body. My cheeks reddened immediately and I cast my eyes down.

Jacob chuckled and stepped towards me. A part of me wanted to run away like crazy, while another part almost forced me to run into his arms.

"Nova, it's okay. I won't hurt you." Jacob said, sensing my fear.

I nodded carefully, my eyes still cast to the ground. Jacob didn't waste a second and pushed me against him.

And to be completely honest; it didn't feel bad.

-

Filius

With a now unconscious Puck on my head, I ran through the halls. Puck cried out at every movement and I felt so bad for the poor boy.

'Mother?'

It was silent for a while, but she responded pretty quickly.

'Yes? Filius, is everything all right?'

'Everything is fine, mother. But I think that we could use your help.'

My mother let out a sigh of relief and waited patiently for me to continue.

'Mother, I need to speak with you soon. I'll bring Puck to safety first and then I'll return.'

'Okay. Please be careful, Filius.'

I rolled my eyes and quickened my pace after closing the mind link with my mother. I followed Nova's scent, to be sure that she had gone in the right direction. I had a feeling that Nova and directions wasn't a good combination.

A soft growl from Puck pulled me from my thoughts and I hurried into the tunnel. I ran through it and arrived at the end seven minutes later. How stupid of Alpha Jeffrey to have an escape route so close to his cells. It also happened to lead to the closest territory, belonging to none other than Alpha Jacob. Once outside in the familiar forest, I caught a lot of different scents. They all belonged to the same Pack: the Light Pack.

I breathed a sigh of relief when I also caught Nova's scent. She was safe with Alpha Jacob.

-

I carefully closed the wooden door behind me and walked away from the cabin where an injured Puck lay. I couldn't do anything else for him. This was his fate.

I looked back at the house one last time and checked for rogues to be sure it was safe. There weren't any, so I could safely close my eyes to have a very important conversation with my mother.
