DAN'S POV

I stare out the window at the rain. It had been raining nearly non-stop the past few days. My mom won't let me out of the house for fear of me getting a cold. School had been cancelled for the next couple days due to reasons they apparently won't share with the students.

Maybe they are finally acting responsible about all the deaths.

Either way I've been super bored. The rain has messed up cell service so I'm stuck with nothing but my notebook to write in.

Since my encounter with the hunters my banshee senses haven't alerted me once. Normally I'd be happy about this but according to Platz a couple in the woods had been discovered a few days ago. They were dead from what appeared to be bite marks and wolf scratches.

Not even once did I feel like anyone was going to die.

I'm honestly a little worried. If I can't tell when people will die what can I do? Other than that I'm just a human. It's not like I have super speed or strength.

Sighing, I hop into bed and turn off the lights.

A scream is wrenched from my throat as I launch upwards in bed. I'm aware of tears streaming down my face but I can't see or hear anything other than the brutal force of my scream. My vision has turned white. Every time my screams get louder the white becomes harsher.

I feel like I've been screaming for an eternity when I feel comforting arms wrap around my body. I still can't hear or see but I have a feeling it's my dad.

I'm suddenly being lifted off of my bed and carried away. I'm vaguely aware of the fact my screams have turned silent but the pain in my head is making it difficult to think.

I'm finally set down and feel a weight of some kind reach across my shoulder, down my chest to my hips.

A seatbelt.

A hand is grasping mine and I try to focus on it to ignore the pain but I can't. The pain is getting worse and I think I've started screaming again, my voice harsher than I've ever heard it.

I feel like throwing up but force it down. Even though I can't see I feel dizzy and light-headed, like I might pass out any minute now.

What feels like hour of pain passes and the seat belt is removed. I'm lifted up again and the arms carrying me are jumping a lot, like they are running.

This time I do throw up, once I've stopped heaving a hand brushes against my forehead, lingering to push my hair out of my eyes. Not that it matters, since I still can't see.

Oh god, I still can't see.

I should be able to see by now right? But I can't. The white is pushing against my senses like I have fallen into some snow. Except I'm not cold I'm burning up.

The arms grip me tighter as I try to wriggle out, determined to find something to fight off this blasted cold. Wait, cold? It felt like I was swimming in lava not even 15 seconds ago.

I gasp as the white suddenly becomes harsher, more bright somehow. I groan which turns into a scream which turns into a current of movement. I vaguely feel myself being placed on something soft, although the burning in my back makes it feel like it is on fire.

I wonder if they placed me into a fireplace...

The pain subsides slightly and I finally realise;

I still can't see.
