As soon as the words left my mouth, everyone was yelling at each other again. Nick was yelling at me, I was just yelling at everyone and Tony were threatening to start fighting with each other, each of us attacking the others verbally.
"Cassidy we couldn't tell you because we were afraid you would take it badly." Nick tried to justify.
"Take it badly?! My father is a psycho god, how else would I react to this?! Would you like to suddenly find out that you were lied to your whole life? That your father has killed innocent civilians?"
Nick doesn't reply to that. i turn to Thor.
"And you! you knew as well!"
He opened his mouth to try and apologize but i cut him off instead. "You know what? save it. I don't want to hear it." I slumped into a chair and put my head in my hands.
Bruce was getting madder by the second, and I knew it could be seconds until he changed into his 'alter ego'.
"Agent romanoff, would you escort Dr. Banner back to his..." Fury said to Tash but Bruce interrupted before he could finish his sentence.
"Where? You rented my room." Bruce said, almost smiling angrily.
"The cell was just in case..."
"in case you needed to kill me, but you can't! I know! I tried!" I looked up at the Doctor, my eyes wide. The room goes silent as everyone looked towards him. "I got low. I didn't see an end, so I put a bullet in my mouth and the other guy spit it out! So I moved on with my life. I focused on helping people. I was good, until you dragged me back into this freak show and put everyone here at risk!" He shifted his gaze to Nat who almost flinched at the look he gave her.
"You wanna know my secret, agent romanoff? You wanna know how I stay calm?" I stood up off the chair and got prepared to conjure a forcefield or a weapon. Out of the corner of my eye, I could see Fury and Tash reaching their hands down and clicking the safety off their guns.
"Bruce... put down the scepter" I say, gently.
He looked down and seemed almost shocked that he was holding the Scepter. The computer beeped and we all turned towards it.
"Got it" tony says triumphantly.
Bruce put the scepter down and walked over to the computer. "Sorry kids, you don't get to see my little party trick after all." He said, a slight trace of sarcasm in his voice. I almost cracked a smile at that.
I walked over to the holo-screen as Thor, Tony and Steve once again started arguing, this time over who should retrieve the cube.
I stare in shock at the location on the screen. "Oh, my god." I said.
The room imploded.
I crashed though a glass pane and hit the corridor wall outside. Bruce and Natasha were thrown down into the lower equipment room. My arm was twisted at an odd angle. A clean snap through the Ulna and Radius. If I didn't re-position it, my arm would heal like that permanently. I steeled myself before wrenching the two bones back into place. A sweep of agony rushed through me, and I collapsed forwards, my vision blurring out and seeing white stars. The pain faded as the breaks healed up, and I stood as soon as I could.
Pandemonium had erupted. Emergency alarms were going off, fire extinguishers and sprinklers had activated and every agent was in a spinning scramble for their positions and armaments. I found my way to the bridge amidst all the chaos, and ran over to Maria.
"What happened?" I yelled over the noise.
"Clint blew out turbine 3. His men are in the helicarrier with S.H.I.E.L.D uniforms."
