Chapter 6

Chapter 8-The Journey to Truth

*BRYCES POV*

We were sitting in the den, watching TV when the door bell rang, thats when I got excited.

I ran to the door, and opened it, showing a huge smile.

"Alex!" I ran up and hugged him, "I missed you so much." I admitted.

"Missed you too bud." Alexander spoke softly

We sat there for at least a minute, then I invited him inside,

"This is a nice place you have here," he started to say, then he noticed Nick,

"What the hell is he doing here?" he gritted his teeth.

I pushed him back, "It's fine, he's with me." I looked back at Nick. He was wearing the outfit he wore when I first met him. How nice, I pulled up a fake smile.

He smirked back at me, knowing that I noticed. Alexander felt the tension and broke the connection, "Why did you call me over? "

"I need your help." I asked

"And what's in it for me...." he extended

I blew out air from my mouth loudly, and looked him straight in the eyes. " I'll let you bite Heather."

*JAKES POV*
"Heather? I need your help."

"Sure thing Jake! I'll be right there,"

"Actually I'm at your house right now just unlock the door."

I heard the door unlock and I opened the door, seeing heather made me think of Bryce. His perfect smile, the way his eyes close a little when he laughs.

"Woah, sorry." she could visibly see I was upset, "What happened?"

"Well, the council in our wolf pack decided to kill Bryce,"

Before I could explain any longer, she screamed," WHAT!"

"Now wait a second. Before they were going to do it, they put him in a vampiric cage that cancels out powers. But only vampiric abilities, and they didn't know about his wolf abilities. So he escaped, and no one knows where he is. Now I am informed that there was another vampire in the cage with him, and the council won't tell me who it was." I sadly admitted, not wanting to mention his name.

She sat down on the couch in her living room, "So what do you need my help for?"

"If Bryce were in trouble, where would he go?" I tried to pry

She hesitated, trying to keep it, but she have up, "I know you're not gonna like this but he would go over to Nicks old house. Since he's more powerful now, he goes there and talks into Nicks old mirror and consults himself. He only told me that incase he was in trouble." Her lips pouted, then tears rushed to her eyes.

I embraced her, trying to comfort her," Why would they want to kill him?" she sobbed

"They're afraid of what he is."

*BRYCES POV*

"Wait, you want me to find Jake and give him this? " Alexander held up the yellow envelope.

"Yes, and be discreet. I know they'll be watching him, incase he decides to try to find me. You must be careful. I'll be close by when you deliver it, and if you're attacked, I'll only be able to protect you for a couple minutes before they'll know I'm there. Just don't let them see it." I stressed.

Nick was upstairs, showering and changing since I told him he needs to change or I'll rip his throat out. Alexander got up and hugged me. Before he left, he turned back around and said "You sure about this, you'll be okay will me turning Heather-"

"Leave before I changed my mind."

"Bye Bryce!" he slammed the door shut and I sighed. The note inside the envelope will only hold them off for a week or so, which will be enough time for me and Jake to make plans to move. We'd have to go some where in the forest, deserted where no one else would dare to go.

"Hey," Nick said, drying his hair. I looked over and immediately looked away.

"Nick are you fucking joking?"

"What? It's nothing you haven't seen before." He finally put the towel back around his waist, but it's didn't help the hard on he'd grown.

"I'm going out for a couple hours, I need to get some stuff planned out, " I said grabbing my coat, but before I could get out the door, he grabbed my arm, pulling me back towards him. I stared at his hand, the looked up at him. He was still taller than me.

"Bryce, I just.. Thank you for saving me. I don't want to burden you any longer, so when you get back I might not be here." my heart twitched. Yes, I did want him to leave but at the same time, I just got him back. The first person I've ever loved was about to leave me again. The person who has gotten me through so much. The person who supported me through my emancipation. The person who loved me more than anything. The person I loved before I fell in more love with Jake.

Suddenly his lips were on mine. I didn't fight it. This might be the last time I ever see him. I was well aware of the field of energy that I had formed around us.

I broke it off, not being able to bare it anymore. "I'm sorry, I just"

"I know. I get it. I just, I'm mated and I can't change that." I shrugged

"Would you?" he asked

I pondered," No. Not even for anything."

"That's good." Nick expressed

"I agree." the voice startled me and filled me with hope. My heart skipped over the world as that specific voice spoke.

I turned to see Jake, leaning against the now open doorway.
