Chapter 7- Showing True Blood
I wasn't the only person in the world that was as afraid as an abused dog about coming out to people. For Christ sake, I haven't even told my parents I'm gay. But for Nick on the other hand, it was a huge misunderstanding.

"So I want you to meet my parents this weekend." Nick casually said at lunch. Nick had been spending some time around me instead of his stupid jock friends, which meant they always teased him saying , 'homo-friends?' literally every 2 seconds. I had started sitting with Nick after the incident, which Heather really hated.
I spit out my water, "Wait what? Isn't that a little, too close, I mean, we are friends."
"You heard me." he looked at me, "I want you to meet my parents."
"Well, they're human right?" I asked
"Sorta." he said," not really. They got changed when they were older. I was younger because of the genetic thing."
"So they'll kill me." I remarked
"No. they've had more experience with human blood. They will not attack you. For years they've been around humans."
"But I thought-?" I was confused
"Yeah."
"So how old are you...."
"18." his smile brought warmth to my heart,
"For how long?" I sarcastically asked, taking another drink of water.
"127 years." he flatly said.
I spit out my water again," Jesus Christ, Nick."
"Let's not talk about it." he smirked, grabbing my arm lightly. Our eyes met, and in that moment, I swear he wanted to kiss me.
"Sorry," Nick laughed. the teacher watched us for another minute before moving on to a table who was having a wrestling match.
"Let's get out of here," he whispered into my ear.
"That's fine with me." I whispered back and left with him. We didn't even have to sneak out. We just left through the front doors.
We went to his place. Since he was 18 he could have his own place. Which was more private and special. When we walked in, the place was almost a wreck.
"You have all this time on your hands, yet you don't clean?" I asked
"It makes it seem homely."
His place was a small apartment in the center of the city. With sound-proof walls and fine furnishes it looked new. But with all his clothes and stuff everywhere it looked like a human's place. In his room, the wall was covered in shelves, full of pictures and memories for him. In the corner was a ha-mock, with a pillow. This was the first time I had actually paid attention to his apartment.
"I thought you didn't sleep?" I asked looking confusingly at the ha-mock. It was black and white striped.
"I don't. The ha-mock is for me to relax. I can still be comfortable Bryce." he said, standing behind me, with his hand on my shoulder.
"Why is it so close to the window?"
"You could say, I like to star gaze." he touched my neck, near my veins. I walked away, to the ha-mock and laid down in it. It was pretty big. Could fit the both of us.
"Are you still scared of me, Bryce?" he looked offended.
I shrugged," You were too close, Nick. When you get too close I get nervous. what if-"
He cut me off, "Nothing will happen, Bryce. I've got it under control. Trust me. Just let me show you." He slowly came towards me, laying next to me on the ha-mock. He leaned in and hugged me close, too close but I couldn't do anything, he was too strong. It was more of a squeeze, not a hug, which ruined the sentimental moment for me.
"Damn, you're strong."
"I do play football."
"I play volleyball, does that mean, I'll get muscles?" I asked,
He looked surprised, "You? Play volleyball?"
"Yeah, I tried out like a month ago. The first meet is next Monday."
"Good for you," he pulled me closer and sighed.
Curiosity struck me, "Hey Nick?"
"Yeah?" he whispered,
"We're friends right?"
"Yes."
"So you would tell me anything?"
"Maybe. Depends on the subject."
"I mean, okay, well have you ever, had like any fantasies about any of your friends? Like a guy friend? Any gay tendencies?" I kinda smiled, laughing a little.
He huffed, shaking his head and laughing lightly, "Guess you'll never find out."
