Alexis POV

I shove my face into my blanket, on my bed. It's nearly five pm, and I haven't heard from Chandler all day. He wasn't at school, missing all of his classes. He missed our science project, and we present on Friday. My birthday.

I'm supposed to be doing my homework for a quiz in math.

I pull out my phone and text him for the fifth time.

awkwardfics: um, where are you?!

I shut off my phone and close my eyes. I look to the left and see Chandler's window. Heh, I remember how he watched me get dressed. Why am I suddenly missing him? It's pretty weird that we aren't dating. Ugh, these stupid trucks outside keep beeping in my ear.

Wait, trucks? Construction workers? In front of Chandler's house? The hell?

I quickly perk up and see that they're about to destroy the house. Take it down. My heart races, zooming out of my room.

A million things run through my mind, and they aren't good. I race down the stairs, finally reaching the bottom. My mom sits in the living room, watching TV. I rush to the door.

"Honey? What's wrong? Aren't you supposed to be studying?" my mom asks.

Now I'm hyperventilating.

"The h-house! Next d-door! Chan-Chandler!" I say, she has a concerned look on her face.

I shake my head, and run to the door immediately. I open it without looking and run into somebody. Not just anybody, Chandler. I ran into his arms.

"Oh my God," I say, catching my breath.

"Woah, Alexis," he smiles, his soft arms around me.

"Y-your house!" I cry.

"Don't worry," he chuckles, helping me to my feet, "I'm okay. They're just renovating it. I'm staying with my grandparents."

"Oh okay. I just got really scared," I nervously laugh.

"I'm fine," he reassures me with his beautiful smile and bright blue eyes. His pale skin makes them stand out.

"Ya know, our science project needs to be worked on...," I trail off, tucking my hair behind my ear. The butterflies are coming back.

"Oh, yeah!" Chandler laughs, I welcome him inside.

"Mom, Chandler and I are going to work on our science project," I say, as she gets up.

"Hey, Chandler. I'm making dinner, and was wondering if you wanted to stay," my mother offers, as I cringe.

"Yeah, sure," Chandler replies, my mom smiles.

"Behave," my mom glares playfully, as I roll my eyes. Chandler and I head upstairs.

"Oh, Alexis," my mom calls, as I stay behind.

"Yeah?"

"Supper will be a little late. I have an appointment with my boss. I'll be back in a hour or two."

"Okay."

I enter my room first, hiding my almost tears from earlier. Chandler jumps onto my bed, shutting the door behind.
