They tell us
To believe impossible things.
My friends don't know it,
But they tell me this too.
They want me
To believe I'm pretty,
They want me to believe
That I'm not a waste of oxygen-
But how could I believe?
They all seem too impossible,
Too untrue
To ever catch hold in my mind.
They lie, I tell myself.
They put the lie in belief.
