"There are darknesses in life and there are lights, and you are one of the lights, the light of all lights."
—Bram Stroker, Dracula.

Victoria's POV.

I walked in silence towards my room, my mind creating various theories. Everything my mother told me just settled as a heavy burden upon my shoulders, with no place to dispose it. The cold wind swept across the room and embraced me like second skin. I shivered and pulled my cloak tighter to myself. The torches along the hallway cast odd shadows across the walls as they danced with the wind. It was the first time I had walked across Aiden's pack house and to say it was magnificent is an understatement. It was quite old, with pictures of the old Alphas and Lunas hanging there like long forgotten treasure. The house looked like a beautiful castle out of a fairytale, now that I noticed, but it wasn't visible to mundanes. It rose high towards the sky though to the human eye it looked like an empty ground. It was covered by the magical forces of the fairies who were the most loyal friends of the werewolves.

"Are you looking for something?" I turned around to find the Alpha staring at me with extreme intensity.

"Not really, I was just looking around. This mansion is breathtaking," I spoke truthfully.

"It is, isn't it?" He grinned.

"Yeah, it is," I rolled my eyes and resumed my walk with him by my side.

"So, how is everything with you? I mean..I heard about your wolf," His voice was low, almost as if he was nervous.

I hid back a smile and said, "Really bad, I guess. I miss her. A huge part of me is missing and it isn't a good feeling," He nodded and we walked in silence for few moments before a thought struck me.

"Where's your father? I mean, you're the Alpha and you must have a father who gave you this position," I curiously asked," I haven't seen him around."

"Curious, aren't we?"

"I apologise," I stared at him, his eyes were like melted chocolate swirling with caramel.

"No need for that," his voice turned grim, " I dont have a father. I got this position from my care taker, Nathan Valentine. He is my father figure but we aren't blood related. I don't know who my parents are,"

"I'm sorry,"

He looked surprised, "Why are you sorry?"

"I'm know what it feels like to not have a parent. It's dreadful," I spoke truthfully.

His eyes softened and he let out a small smirk, "I'm never knew them, I remember a few..things about them," his stance indicated his discomfort," but I don't remember who they truly were. I just remember their true names because of a memory,"

"Oh, but how did you get the position if you aren't biologically his son?"

"He didn't have a child because his wife was infertile. After years of taking care of me, he made me strong enough to handle a position as strong as being an Alpha. My actual father must've been the Alpha because I have the true blood," No wonder I feel the power radiating off him.

"Well, that's informative," I laughed.

"Why don't you tell me about yourself? Dear guest. I don't know anything about you, yet me and my pack are helping you," He smirked and walked closer to me. His arm almost touching mine. I held back a gasp and looked forward

"Well, I'm an art bender,"

"No shit," his smirk was still there and and as annoying as ever.

I rolled my eyes and continued," It's a family thing, you obviously know that. My mother is a water manipulator and my father is the fire manipulator, so I guess I got both qualities. I have no other siblings. Also, we were never part of a pack. Accept my mother and father, I have not known anyone related to me," I looked at him, his body was shivering. Is he cold? He was intently staring at the patterns on the carpet as if diverting his attention somewhere other than me. Great, am I that boring?
