"guys.." sophie said uneasily.
"yeah?" i asked once i got breath. we all had slowed down once we got in the neighborhood, but were still somewhat jogging.
"wheres ari..?" sophie asked.
i turned around to look at everyone.
sure enough, ariel johnson was nowhere to be seen.
i placed my hand over my mouth.
"oh my god" i muttered. "lets get inside" i said and finished jogging to my house.
"we need to call the police," lauren says.
with out speaking i throw her my phone.
"hi yes we were just outside on the tracks and a man came out of no where and followed us. he had a gun and shot three bullets and we started running and now our friend isnt here i think she mightve gotten shot," she said with a paniced voice.
"her name is Ariel Johnson. shes 16 years old,"
"the tracks on welsh street,"
"thank you," she said and hung up the phone.
"there coming" she tossed my phone back at me.
im still in shock.
she is my best friend. she cant be hurt. maybe she took the different way when we got to the road. yeah, thats it. shes not actually hurt shes just lost.
but ari would never go the other way. she knows that my house is the other ways.
god i hope shes ok.
i dont know how i did it, but i some how fell asleep. i wish i wouldve never woke up either.

we were all awoked by my phone ringing. I answered with out looking at the caller id.
"hello I believe you called about the report on ariel johnson?"
"yes i did. whats happened?"
"we are very sorry to inform you that your superstitions were correct. she was shot in the head. police believe that she died seconds after. once again im very very sorry."
i hung up the phone and dropped to the floor.
"shes gone guys," i say to the three anxious faces around me in barely a whisper so quiet i was surprised anyone else could hear it.
i heard a small gasp as i brought my knees up to my face and cried.
cried for all i was worth.
shes gone and its all my fault. i was the one who forced her to go there.
i balled my eyes out for as long as i could remember.
