I also put lots of time into making the story as realistic and as similar as possible to the 'wizarding world' created in the books (and movies) so here are a few extra details you may want to know before you begin reading...
- Burke is a pureblood name - you might recognise the name from the shop Borgin & Burke's - the main character's connection to the store-owner is eventually revealed
- Additionally, Burke is also the last name of a past Headmistress at Hogwarts - Elizabeth Burke, another relative to the main character
- According to the Harry Potter Wiki, in the later Harry Potter movies a portrait of Elizabeth Burke is hanging in Malfoy Manor - this shows that the families know each other and have connections
This information is why I chose to create a main character with the last name of Burke. More details and connections are revealed (and will make more sense) as the chapters go on! I have found majority of this information on the Harry Potter Wiki and give credit to the extremely useful website.
