The faint sound of my music blaring under the covers woke me up. I yawned as I sat up and stretched my arms out. The sun pushed through my curtains, the birds chirping each other. I sighed as the memories of last night came back to mind. I slowly made my way to the bathroom and found some concealer. I felt empty as the red lines started to disappear. I walked back in to my room and hopelessly stared in to the picture of Andrew and me. My head jolted up when I heard a knock at my door. I grabbed a sweater off my desk chair before opening the door. As I slide my hand through the holes I reached for the door handle and pulled it open.

“Hey, did I wake you?” Harry asked softly.

“No,” I replied shortly.

“Martin made breakfast, would you like to join me?” Harry asked displaying his dimples.

“Look, you don’t have to start being nice to me,” I said leaning against the door.

“I’m not being nice of you because,” he trailed off looking at my wrist.

“Okay, let’s go then,” I said quickly making my way past him. I could hear a pause before his footsteps followed mine.

“Ahh, Miss Katherine,” Martin smiled as I entered the room.

“Smells good Martin,” I said taking in the intoxicating aroma of bacon and French toast.

“Would you like breakfast outside?” Martin asked holding our plates in each of his hands.

“Where would you like?” Harry asked me.

“Outside, please,” I smiled. Martin lead us out to the porch and set our plates down.

“Thanks,” Harry said as he sat down.

“What would you two like to drink?” Martin asked after I sat down.

“Apple juice please,” Harry said.

“And for you?” Martin turned to me.

“Chocolate milk,” I said. With our orders Martin was off to retrieve our drinks.

“It’s beautiful today,” Harry said as I took my first bite.

“It’s pretty much like this all year,” I nodded trying to swallow at the same time.

“Aren’t you hot in the jumper?” Harry asked pushing a piece of French toast to the side of his mouth.

“The what?” I chuckled.

“Sorry, sweater,” Harry translated.

“Oh. No I’m fine thanks,” I smiled poorly looking back down at my plate to avoid eye contact.

“Do you mind if the dogs join you?” Martin asked as he gave us our drinks.

“Let them out,” I nodded. Mac and Clair ran past us and on to the grass.

“They’re cute,” Harry chuckled as we watched them wrestle. “When did you get them?”

~ “Kids come down here!” my dad yelled. I just finished unpacking all of my things, and placed them where I wanted them to be. I followed Elizabeth, Lilly and Andrew down the stairs. Amy stood there with my dad, they both had wide smiles on their faces.

“What?” Andrew asked.

“We know this is a big change for all of you,” Amy trailed off.

“To help you all a little bit more we bought you all a group present,” my dad smiled. “Martin,” he signaled. Martin walked in through the front door holding a puppy in each hand.

“Awwww,” Lilly squealed.

“Oh my god, no way,” Elizabeth said in shock. I didn’t even crack a smile. I knew my father allowed Amy to go pick out two puppies because Andrew was going to be leaving soon. I stood on the stairs and glared at him as everyone else cuddled the new members of the family.

“Do you want to name one?” my dad smiled at me.

“No, its fine,” I said with a straight face.

“I’ll name him,” Andrew interfered. “How about this one’s Mac,” Andrew said holding the grey one.

“Can we name one?” Lilly asked. Amy nodded.

“I think Clair is a pretty name,” Lizzy said. Everyone agreed. I returned to my room while everyone took the new puppies outside. ~

“Did your brother give them to you?” Harry asked reaching across the table, placing his warm hand over mine.

I scrunched my eyebrows and looked disgusted at him, “No,”

“Oh, sorry,” Harry apologized removing his hand. I sighed knowing he was trying to be nice.

“I’m sorry,” I said rubbing my hand against my forehead.

“I shouldn’t be asking about him,” Harry said quietly. Something about his tone just put me over the edge.

“That’s it,” I said pushing my chair back.

“Where are you going?” Harry asked innocently.

“I don’t want to be sitting here with you,” I took a deep breathe, “I don’t need your pity, okay?” my tone was getting louder and stronger.

“Katherine, what is going on?” Amy asked walking out to Harry and I.

“Nothing,” I said.

“Then you don’t need to raise your voice. I’m really sorry for her behaviour,” Amy turned to Harry. I rolled my eyes and stormed in to the house. I slammed my door shut, sliding my back down until I hit the floor. Once I had calmed myself down I got changed into a leopard print skirt, maroon top with a studded light blue jean jacket to cover up my wrist. I grabbed my purse, digging through making sure my car keys were there. I quickly made my way down the stairs, only to be stopped by Martin.

“Your father would like to speak to you in his office,” I sighed looking at the door. Knowing how close I was to escaping. I walked in the other direction towards my dad’s office.
