She pushed me aside as I still stood there shocked. My whole body was numb and I couldn't even register what was going on in my mind.
I quickly ran to the bathroom and emptied out everything I ate earlier. I flushed the toilet and washed my hands behind myself. Walking back in my room, I quickly brushed my teeth and stuck a gum inside.
"Where is she ?!" My mother yelled as Carter stood there in confusion
"Man lady I don't even know who you are !" He yelled back at her
"You better tell that bitch I want my money" She said through gritted teeth
"Mom, what are you -"
She ignored my whole presence and stormed out of the house. I kept pinching myself to see if this was a dream, but the harder I pinched myself the more it began to settle in. My mother wasn't dead.
Before I knew it, I was sitting in my room balling my eyes out as Jasmine and Janae sat comforting me.
"She just ignored my whole presence, she didn't say anything !" I said in between sobs
"Well what did she say ?" Janae questioned as she repositioned King on the bed careful not to wake him
"She just said tell the bitch I want my money before storming out" I wiped my eyes with my sleeve
"This shit is crazy" Jasmine rubbed her temples "How the fuck is she alive if her ass was dead in New York ?"
"Did y'all have a burial for her ?" Janae asked
"Nah, my dad said he would take care of it for me" I answered
I leaned back on my bed and just sat there thinking. I saw my mother eye blown out of her own eye and the hospital pronounced her dead. My mind be playing tricks on me.
I must've fallen asleep because it was now 5:30. Janae, King, and Jasmine were still here because they were now sleeping.
"Tania, can I talk to you ?" Carter peeked his head in my room
I sighed before carefully getting out of my bed, trying not to wake no one up. I failed considering King poked his head up looking at me. I grabbed him and his stuck his pacifier in his seeing he was about to start all that crying shit.
"Aye, you my nephew so you ain't about to be crying and shit" I told him as we walked out of my room into Carter's
I sat in the spinning chair as King looked around the room.
"You gon' talk or just sit there silent ?" I asked him
"I wanna apologize for what I did to you. I didn't know it would've caused this much drama in your life"
"So did you really know she was ?"
"Yeah, me and Whitney are best friends. She told me about Rashad and I just wanted to protect you, so I told her where you and Gia went so she could tell you"
"So you did all of this just so me and Rashad wouldn't be together anymore ?"
"Tania that nigga was fucking with other bitches while he was with you and you were a lil blind to see it. You my lil sister and I don't need you being all heartbroken and shit over a no good nigga" He spoke eyeing me closely
"Carter I understand you're my big brother but I can figure stuff out on my own"
"I was just trying to save you a heartbreak and I apologize if I hurt you. I didn't know Kim big ass mouth was listening to our conversation"
"Don't talk about her like that" I laughed "How she doing anyways ?"
"She's pregnant"
"By you ?" I questioned raising an eyebrow
"Yeah" He ran his hands across his face
"I feel bad for her" I said looking at King since he kept hitting my neck
"Why ?" He asked raising an eyebrow
"You ain't shit bro" I laughed
"Well my ain't shit ass going to be having twins" He spoke grabbing two pictures off his nightstand passing them over to me
"Yeah, she really fucked" I said as I looked at the pictures before handing them back over to him
We talked to more and he bothered King a little bit before a question popped up in my head.
"Carter, can you give me a honest answer to this question I'm about to ask you ?"
"Yeah, wassup ?"
"Who killed Travis ?"
He stopped playing with King and stared at me with a shocked and confused face.
