The Male Rookie of the Year Award of the 2015 Melon Music Awards was awarded to iKON.
WINNER also participated in the 2015 Melon Music Awards, held at Seoul Olympic Gymnastics Stadium on November 7, to present awards.
When WINNER announced iKON as the winner of the Male Rookie of the Year Award, iKON seemed to be taken by surprise. They went up on the stage to receive their award and for their acceptance speech, iKON members said, "We would like to thank our parents, YG CEOs YANG HYUN SUK and YANG MIN SUK."
This year's Melon Music Awards was held under the concept of "music connect" and brought together diverse elements of the Korean music scene.
The awards of the 2015 Melon Music Awards were the TOP10 Awards, Best Artist, Best Album, Best Song, Rookie of the Year, Netizens' Pick, Hot Trend, Best OST, Best Ballad, Best Dance, Best Rap/Hiphop, Best Rock, Best Pop, Best Folk, Best Indie, Best Trot, Best Music Video, Best Songwriter, and MBC Music Star. Apink, BIGBANG, EXO, San E, Zion.T, SHINee, Girls' Generation, Sistar, Toy, and Hyukoh were chosen as the awardees of the Top10 Awards through an online vote.
