YG's YANG HYUN SUK says, "Here Comes iKON's Best Song"
[OSEN – Sun Mikyung] YG's head producer YANG HYUN SUK extolled rookie iKON's new songs. He said, "The title track to be newly released soon is absolutely the best song ever. It was the first co-work between TEDDY and iKON and they created a perfect harmony together."
It is a song created by the rappers of best boy group iKON, including BOBBY and B.I who have already proven their talent in cable channel Mnet's "Show Me the Money 3". The unique and intense lyrics are well-expressing the swag of hip-hop.
B.I and BOBBY will unveil their new song "ANTHEM" as a unit team, on November 16. The song to be released along with iKON's new song is a song for which the two and YG's main producer TEDDY worked together. While the song is arousing fans' expectations in different senses, its lyrics unveiled on the 10 are drawing keen attention.
YG Entertainment unveiled a poster with "ANTHEM"'s lyrics on November 10 in the morning, on the company's official blog. The poster is catching the eyes, with the charismatic image of B.I and BOBBY overlapping with the lyrics written in red. The intense and witty lyrics of the song are quite impressive. The lyrics of "ANTHEM" that begin with "iKON is coming to town" go on like "No matter how you think you're successful, I'll beat you/ When you get complacent, that's the moment you're beaten by me". Also, the wit of borrowing the rhythm and words of Korean traditional folk songs to the hip-hop song also stands out.
As YANG said to OSEN, "When I first heard iKON's new song for which TEDDY worked on, I was like thrilled. A truly fantastic song has been born. iKON will release two songs for which TEDDY worked with iKON. The songs were really great and enough to just forget about the big success of 'MY TYPE'. I'm really satisfied with the outcome of TEDDY and iKON's collaboration", fans' expectations for the new songs are rising higher.
Notably, as the song is directly created by the unit team of B.I and BOBBY who took part in writing the lyrics and melody, a variety of Korean words that describe a perfect match are used in the song, which sound quite impressive. As such, the lyrics of "ANTHEM" have hip-hop music's flagship high spirit and wit.
