I lay on my air mattress in Sally's room feeling numb. I feel nothing. All I hear is the violent silence ringing in my ears. Sally was downstairs with Slender. She hasn't been told about BEN yet, maybe that's what he's telling her right now. I rolled over so I was facing upwards towards the ceiling. My mouth was dry and I had tear stains on my face. I heard a knock on the door. I didn't respond.
"I'm coming in," said Jeff. A few seconds later the knob turned and Jeff walked in.
"Hey uh listen (Y/N)," he said. I just stared back at him.
"I'm really sorry. I'm sorry about being such a jerk and I'm sorry about...BEN." His words punched me in the gut when he mentioned BEN. A heavy pain in my heart surged as soon as he said his name. I felt like I had to cry but no tears came out. Jeff sat there waiting for my response. A few minutes of silence passed when Jeff did something unexpected. I felt two strong arms embrace me. I was shocked, Jeff never showed anyone emotion. I was about to say something but before I could open my mouth, he got up and left. No words, no eye contact, he just left.

*-time skip to a week later-*
*-Your Pov-*

It was the day of BEN'S funeral. No one seemed happy or sad. Everyone just seemed blank and emotionless. No smiles or frowns. We all gathered outside. No one spoke except Slender who broke the silence.
"Ok everyone well.. We've never had to do this before so this may not be as proper as a regular funeral. Bear with me." Slender said.
There were no decorations, no flowers. Just a closed casket. The sky was gray, not its usual blue. Slender spoke about BEN. He was talking about his memories with him and how he made people smile. Everyone shared something about BEN. Then my turn came to say something about him.
"I remember when I first met him, he saved me from a bully. I was so scared, yet relieved at the same time. Then he took me from my parents and let me live here with you guys. The rest is too much to explain but I wish I was able to thank him for everything he's done." I teared up. A few songs from BEN'S favorite bands and a slideshow played.
"Well everyone, say your goodbyes." Slender announced. Everyone went up to the now open casket. I waited until everyone else left and went up to it. I had no words except ;

"Thank you BEN..."
