Kinaru: Hey everyone, sorry for the wait. I finally finished the cover for this darn book! I'm so happy! I hope you like it. The idea for the picture of team seven walking with the kits goes to LIONKID, thank you for the idea, and I must say I am rather pleased with how they turned out. Hopefully you like it too!

Another thank you to LIONKID! I just can't stress enough how grateful I am to you. The fact that you PM'd me with a cover idea was a big boost in my writing. It's readers like you that make us writers want to continue writing!

Enough of my rambling though, let's just get to the story. That's what everyone is here for!

Also I don't own Naruto, just my OCs!

Chapter 8

Had he been this much trouble as a child? He didn't think he had. Really when had he ever done anything other than follow Itachi around? Sasuke grimaced as he continued to pet his nephew's soft hair.

The other two kits were still fast asleep in their over sized crib, not even noticing the absence of their older sibling. Hiro whimpered softly, his grip on Sasuke's shirt tightening. The elder raven swore he heard the fabric rip from the pressure of the little beast's claws.

He still wasn't entirely sure what had awoken his brother's first born, he only knew that Hiro wasn't going to let him go anytime soon. Sasuke's gaze drifted to the remaining two kyuubi sleeping. Zero was curled up into his sister's side, the female cuddling into the area her other brother should be.

The avenger was just waiting for her to be the next to cry, since she usually did when she found one of male kitsune missing from their bed. Though it appeared Zero was keeping her warm enough that she didn't notice the empty space to her left.

Sasuke sighed, bringing his gaze back to the half demon on his lap. He was rocking him gently in an attempt to calm him, but it didn't seem to be making a difference. It was times like this the adult regretted getting his own apartment. Sakura would know what to do, she always did.

Even if she had given him permission to call her, no matter the time, Sasuke couldn't find it in himself to wake her or her parents. They had been too kind in allowing him to spend countless nights on their couch, he could handle one night. The Harunos deserved their sleep after putting up with the Uchihas for so long, even if they claimed it was no trouble.

Another whine brought Sasuke back to the problem at hand. Tears had sprung to Hiro's eyes and he was now biting his uncle's shirt collar. Sasuke shushed him, placing a soft kiss to the top of his head, as he wiped away the tears. "Now now Hiro, there's no need for tears. I'm here."

The noise the charcoal beast made almost brought tears to the elder Uchiha's own eyes, it reminded him of the sounds Yuna used to make in her sleep. He'd always wondered about the restless nights she'd had. Her cries in the night, almost identical to the ones of her son.

"I'm here." He whispered again, holding the kit closer. "I won't leave you, I'll stay right here." He promised.

The words weren't just directed at the kyuubi in his arms, they were meant for all three little beast, and their mother, for their father. Though it was a promise he knew he would have to break, Sasuke continued to repeat it over and over. Hoping his voice would sooth the suffering tailed beast he held so dear.

"I'm here." He was practically chanting the words, his voice barely a whisper in the dark room. The only source of light being the light blue dolphin night light, and the first rays of the sun peaking over the horizon. What time was it?

Sasuke regretted not having a digital clock in the kits' room, the traditional wall clock was shrouded in darkness, making it impossible to tell the time. He could only guess by the brightening horizon, not that it helped. Storm clouds littered the sky, telling him it could be anywhere between four and seven in the morning.
