Natasha's POV

Ciara Brian, finally caught!

Ciara has always been 'little miss perfect'.

She was the kind of girl who parents looked at and wished that she was theirs. And my parents were no exception.

My entire life I had always been compared to her. My parents had always wanted me to be more like her, but I always knew that there was something she was hiding.

I have always known that she wasn't as perfect as everyone else seemed to think.

And she had always known how I got treated because of her. But she still did everything she could to make everyone think that she was an angel, while I was a devil. And I was sick and tired of it!

Now, standing here outside Renington High School where I had followed her to, and watching her come out with a scared expression, all my doubts about her were confirmed.

With a smug smile plastered across my face, I waited for her to reach me.

"What are you doing here Natasha?" Ciara asked me through gritted teeth.

"Oh, I just decided to come and meet Jake", I said feigning innocence,"your physics parter. I needed help in physics anyway, so I thought maybe we guys could group study. But I didn't realise that Jake wasn't even in our school!"

"I was here to meet a friend", Ciara told me icily.

I scoffed and said sarcastically,"Sure you were", and then in a more intimidating voice I continued," What are you hiding Ciara?"

"You", she said menacingly,"are no one to comment on keeping secrets when you yourself tell no one about the guys visiting you at night."

"What are you talking about?" I asked her with an eyebrow raised.

"Oh you know", she said with a small sneaky smile creeping up her lips,"Blond hair, blue eyes."

I was stunned into silence.

She was talking about Brandon. But how did she know? Brittany wouldn't have told her, would she?

No. I refused to believe it. Brittany would never betray me like that.

"That's what I thought", she said with a fake sugary smile," and now if you'll excuse me, I have to get to class. Unlike some people, I have grades to maintain."

And just like that, she pushed past me, and walked away.

Did that just happen?

I snapped myself out of my thoughts as I realized that I too had to get to class.

I rushed back to school, just in time.

Entering my chemistry class, I went and sat in the middle row.

I saw Brandon walk in and after passing me a small sincere smile, he walked up to me, and sat down in the seat next to me.

My heart started beating so fast, I was afraid he'd here it.

'What's the matter with you Natasha?', I thought to myself,' It's not the first time you're meeting the guy.

"Hey", he said with that cute smile of his.

"Hi", I replied with a smile of my own.

After that we continued talking, even during class.

He told me he wanted to be a cardiologist, because he liked the idea of saving people. Also because he wanted to be something practical.

He asked me what I wanted to be, and I told him that I hadn't decided yet, because nothing really caught my interest.

Even though in my heart, I knew that wasn't true.

I did want to become something, but that, I knew, wasn't possible, so why even think about it right?

Class ended, and even though I had a free period, Brandon had a class.

I said goodbye with a slight wave and smile, but what he did next not only surprised me, but onlookers as well.

He leaned in and planted a gentle kiss on my cheek.

"See you later", he said.

I tried to stop myself from blushing, but I was pretty sure that my cheeks were scarlet by now.

The rest of the day passed by in a blur.

I tried paying attention in class, but my thoughts always wandered off to a few months back, when I faced the biggest disappointment of my life. Which, by the way, was also thanks to Miss Ciara Brian.

I still remembered it clearly. You don't easily forget the day all your hopes and dreams got shattered.

As the school day ended, I tried to cheer myself up by thinking about mine and Brittany's lunch date in a while.

I had asked her during school whether she was free after school or not, and she had said she was, so I told her to meet me out front.

I planned to explain to her everything that had happened last night, and also tell her about my run-in with Ciara.

And even though I would probably have to go through her teasing and taunting for not telling her anything before, I knew that I would still have a good time.

She was my best friend after all, and every minute I spent with her was special.

I thought all that as I was waiting for her outside the school.

When she finally came, she had an excited expression on her face.

"Guess what, guess what, guess what?" She asked excitedly as soon as she reached me.

"What, what, what?" I asked feeling genuinely curious and interested.

"Justin just invited me to watch his football practice", she said with a magical glint in her eye.

"That's great", I said trying to sound enthusiastic for my best friend, even though my heart was sinking because I knew that meant we wouldn't be able to go out.

"I know!" She said," I'm going right now. But what did you want to talk to me about?"

"Oh, nothing", I told her trying to smile," it wasn't that important anyway. We can just talk later."

"Okay", she said still smiling.

I really wanted to spend some time with her, but I knew that she actually liked this Justin guy, and so I didn't want to stop her from being with him.

She gave me a hug and with a huge smile still plastered across her face, she started walking away.

With a sigh, I turned around and headed for my car.

'I guess I'll by spending the day in self pity', I thought to myself as I walked away as well.
