Percy, Leo, and Nico sat next to Harry, Ron and Hermione during dinner.
"How was your first day at Hogwarts?" Hermione asked.
They all shrugged.
"It was fine." Percy said simply. "I liked all the classes, except for Potions." Percy said.
"Who's your favorite teacher?" Harry asked suddenly.
"Chi- er, that is, Professor Chiron." Percy replied immediately.
The other three shared weighted glances. Percy realized they might be getting suspicious.
"What other teacher would let us use real swords in class?" He added nervously.
"Well it did seem like you've used a sword before." Hermione said, the suspicion almost unnoticeable in her voice.
"Uh... it was an... elective at our... um... Camp. Er, Camp Wizard." Percy said awkwardly. Hermione raised an eyebrow.
"I thought you said you called it Wizard Camp... not Camp Wizard." Percy blanched.
"Um... Er... I... well... I thought that's what I said? Er... right, Nico?" He managed. Nico saved him by saying quickly, "Well, you said Camp Wizard, but I'm pretty sure you meant Wizard Camp. We're all pretty tired." He directed this last part to Hermione. She gave them a suspicious frown, but let it go. (Let it go! Can't hold it back anymoooore!!!! Sorry I had to. Carry on!)
Ron had only been half paying attention, more focused on his food than anything else, but Harry had been hanging on every word.
"Why did they have sword training at your camp?" He asked, not hiding the suspicion as well as Hermione had. Leo finished a bite of food and shot a (very fake) hurt glance at Harry.
"Dude, why would any other place have sword-fighting or stuff? It's just a cool thing that our camp does." Hermione raised an eyebrow.
"You're avoiding the question." Percy suddenly stood up.
"I'm kind of tired. I'm going back to the Cab- uh... I mean the common room." He had almost made a serious slip-up, and Hermione noticed. "What were you about to say?" She asked as innocently as she could. Leo suddenly let out a huge yawn. "Wow! I'm pooped. I'll go with you Perce. I'm ready to hit the hay. Neeks?" Nico scowled. "Don't call me that. But yes I'll come too." Nico and Leo stood up and followed Percy back to the common room. They heard footsteps running behind them.
"Hey! Percy! Leo! Nico!" They heard someone say. It was Ginny. "You guys don't have the new password yet!" Nico shot her a puzzled look. "They're changing it already?" Ginny nodded. "Someone accidentally left the password out, so we changed it to Afrodítis pagóni. What's so funny?" She asked. Percy had tried to stifle his laugh with a cough, but it wasn't very subtle. "Nothing. I just... thought it sounded kind of funny. That's all." Percy lied. He was really laughing because it meant: Aphrodite's Peacock in Greek. Probably wasn't spelled with Greek letters though. He glanced at Nico and Leo. Leo was grinning broadly, while Nico was maintaining an incredible Poker Face. Percy tried to stifle his smile, but was failing miserably. Ginny gave him a strange look. "Alright... most of the passwords are going to sound funny to you. I think it's a Greek theme this year or something. At least I heard that rumor from Dean. Luna says that the Ravenclaw riddles are more Greek themed this year as well." Percy exchanged an amused look with Leo. Nico was still maintaining his Poker Face very well. This year would be interesting.
As soon as they got back into the common room, they fell apart laughing. "A-Aphrodite's Peacock?" Percy asked hysterically. Leo snorted and replied, "I suppose it's right up there with Hera's Owl, and Athena's Dove." They cracked up. A Gryffindor came through the portrait of the Fat Lady, and saw them laughing crazily. He blinked then turned around and walked back out. They cracked up even harder. Tears streamed down their faces. Leo and Percy we're glad to see Nico smiling. He hadn't done much of that in a long time. Even though the seven had warmed to him, and he had other friends, he still was pretty sad looking most of the time.
Finally their cackles subsided to just a few chuckles every now and then.
Suddenly Harry and Hermione dashed in. Hermione's face was streaked with tears, and Harry looked grim, but also angry. Percy Leo and Nico stopped laughing when they saw how upset they looked.
"What happened?" Percy asked. "Where's Ron?" Hermione burst into tears. Harry was just fuming. "Oh you act like you don't know." He snarled.
"Harry!" Hermione exclaimed through her tears. "You don't have proof they did it."
"Proof of what? What happened?" Percy asked frantically.
"I will." Harry seethed. He whipped out his arm, and pointed it at Percy's left arm. "Macula Revelare!" He shouted. Percy's sleeve shot up, showing his SPQR tattoo. Hermione gasped when she saw it. Then she seemed puzzled, as if it wasn't what she expected. Then she gasped again, her hand flying up to her mouth.
Harry just looked confused. "That... that isn't the Dark Mark." He stated. The words sank in as he remembered what Hermione had taught them about the followers of Voldemort: Death Eaters. A huge sense of annoyance grew in Percy. "You thought I was a Death Eater?" He shouted. "That I was behind whatever happened to Ron?!?! No! I'm here to learn about magic and find Annabeth! Nothing else." He stopped, realizing what he said. Hermione and Harry stared at him in shock. "Annabeth?" Hermione asked in a small voice. "Who's Annabeth?" Percy stood stunned, his eyes watering slightly. He turned and dashed up the stairs to the boy's room. Leo and Nico shook their heads disgustedly at Harry, and smiled sheepishly at Hermione, then ran up the stairs after Percy. Hermione shook her head at Harry and stormed up the stairs to the girl's room, leaving Harry alone feeling extremely guilty.
