Iñigo
Since she wouldn't answer my calls the past 2 days, I decided to go to their farm in Claveria. Her father, Tito Roy, greeted me when I arrived. He said Chloe had been working on the renovation of the treehouse by the small lake. She will convert it to a craft room. Tito Roy asked Caleb to accompany me to the treehouse where Chloe is at the moment.
"I think she still loves you," Caleb started talking as we were on our way to the treehouse. "She's been like this since she saw you at the Boots and Saddle 2 nights ago. The last time she acted this way was when you broke up. She just wouldn't leave the treehouse. Papa and I would even sleep there so she can have company at night. You have to talk to her."
When we reached the treehouse, Caleb led me up the spiral staircase. Chloe was sitting by the window, crocheting while listening to music on her laptop.
"Ate, Iñigo's here." Caleb said to his sister.
She stopped crocheting and turned to face us.
She did this semi-smile again, I'm not sure if she's happy to see me or not.
"I'll go get some refreshments." Caleb said before he left us alone.
"Hi!" I began. "I was the one who's been calling you these past 2 days, sorry kung kinukulit kita. I got your number from Polo. I just wanted to talk to you. At since you didn't answer my calls, I decided to just come by and visit. Matagal na rin akong di nakapunta dito." I let out a very nervous laugh while scratching the back of my head.

Chloe
Hearing his voice again really brings back so many memories. It reminded me of how happy I was with him, but I also remember how devastated he was when I decided to break up with him. He tried to save the relationship many times but I gave up on him. I stayed away from him at the Boots and Saddle because I didn't know what to say to him. I didn't want him to see how much I wanted to have him back.
I could sense he was holding his breath while waiting for me to speak.
I finally smiled and said, "How have you been doing?"
He let out a sigh of relief and answered, "I'm doing okay. Just got back from Singapore, I worked there for 3 years."
"You know what, I think I saw you at the airport. I saw this tall guy who was about to ride a taxi. I thought it was you because he was wearing a crocheted beanie similar to the one I made for you on the 2nd Christmas we were together." I narrated.
His eyes widened and asked, "When was that? I arrived here last Sunday, early morning."
I got excited and said, "So it was you!"
We just laughed at that.
And for the first time in 12 years, I feel kind of okay.
