Death has washed onto my neighbor's shore,
tingling smiles of life no more,
anxiety rising, once burning excitement,
a shunned light; burned out candle-flame,
as teary faces reflect no merriment,
only hoping once more
to see the door, ajar,
letting in some light,
unfortunately, my friend
cannot say, "hello,"
anymore.
The only thing that shines tonight,
Is the moon reflected over an ocean at night.
