my first thought was 'i'm awake...pity'

I felt around in the dim morning light, made entirely useless by the flap of my tent being sealed against it, until i felt the apex of the smooth warming skin pressed to the front of me. closing my hand loosely around a limp member, i stood abruptly, feeling the sharp and sudden sting of my own tearing away from his backside.

apparently I hadn't bothered to clean up. I remembered now.

I could see him stir, awakened by my movements.

"get up and get the fuck out." I'm such a romantic

He had been gone some time and I hadn't so much as gotten up to see him leave, when I could hear a light scraping at my tent flap. even by the sound of it i knew it was Rue. apparently she thought she could just come in here. she was my best friend after all. god I hated her.

she let herself in and knelt partway over me as i kept my back turned, badly mimicking sleep.

"we were going to go out hunting together."

by this she meant we were going for a walk. Rue never did any kind of work and she was usually bothered if I got distracted being productive. I was reasonably certain she was trying to fuck me, despite her claims that I was far to sensitive and shy for her taste.

"mmmhm..." she wasn't going away so I couldn't leave the silence alone. or wouldn't.

"I'll bring Letha."

she turned to leave after this. assuming I'd come out. Letha was her friend from her homelands. Rue had originally come to us as an attempted marriage prospect. no one took to her well. even the tallest of us didn't want a woman of even size. so she just never went away, though she visited her old home. I guess they didn't want her either.

her purpose in bringing Letha was to be some sort of matchmaker. In her ongoing desire to prove she only wanted us to be friends, which suited me fine though she made an excellent pillow and an awful anything else, she had set out to put me in a relationship. Rue never asked anyone what they thought of her intentions.

After sitting an hour in the open sunlight, because I couldn't do something sensible like sit in the shade, I was just about ready to say the hell with rue and her plans and go fishing for awhile.

Instead Rue did show up. fucking fantastic. with her was a delicate mousy nervous looking woman. she would hardly suitable for anything very violent, but she touched a certain hunger in me.

I turned on my heels as I stood and went to the thicker part of the wood. Rue knew my manner by now. I wasn't going to turn and introduce myself to any..

"doesn't hurt."

This turned my head to where Rue's voice came. Letha, apparently, was clinging to her, her arms locked around her neck as if she would embrace her, a pinch of her skin between her teeth.

doesn't hurt? I don't think that was the idea. This did make me stop and wait for Rue to carry them both to me.

"Don't like it when it hurts, Rue?" my eyes were all for Letha, who was disengaging herself and returning to her feet.

i brushed my hair aside and held it. I prefer to give pain much more then to receive it. but any gift of novelty must be savored, one way or another. "care to try me instead?"

she looked bored at the idea, as if it was a bother to be asked. likely, she had been asked before. by those who didn't begin to understand. I understood.
