Christmas party

"Nathan it's okay." Haley said as they came home from Nathan's parents house

"No it's not Haley, I'm their son and they treat me like I'm nothing. How are they going to treat my kid? I can tell you one thing... I'm not going to be like that ."

"I know." Haley said

"I'm not going to..." Nathan said softly

"I know." Haley interrupted

"We're going to be fine." Nathan said unsure of himself

"Better then fine." Haley said happily huffing Nathan and comforting him after their long night with his parents.

The next day...

Haley and Nathan arrived to school and everyone was standing there waiting for them and laughing together almost in unison.

"Naley!" Brooke squealed

"We have all been waiting to hear how it was with mr. and ms. Devil." Peyton exaggerated

Haley and Nathan both looked at each other and then  they told everyone about what happened and how they both stormed out of the house after Dan trashed Haley while she was standing right there in front of him. Everyone was shocked but not completely because it was expected that Dan would act that way because after all Haley did take away dans star son.

"Wow." Lucas said in the most shock out of everyone

"Yeah it was that bad." Nathan said scratching his head awkwardly

"God you two are depressing, even more than Peyton of here." Brooke said motioning towards a glum Peyton

"Hey!" Peyton said standing up for herself

"Why don't we throw a Christmas party, come on it will be fun we can all dance play games and it will cheer Mr. And Mrs. Gloomy up and Peyton." Brooke suggested

"I don't know." Haley said unwilling to do anything

"Come on Tutor mom it will be fun." Brooke said happily

"Fine Brooke." Haley said a little annoyed

"Okay tomorrow night." Brooke said walking away rather fast

"I got to go." Lucas said running to catch up with her

"BROOKE!" Lucas shouted to catch her attention

"Hi" she said turning around

" I gotta ask you something." He said

"Ask away." She said smiling

"Do you think you'll need any help with the party?" He asked

Brooke's smile faded and she became serious

"I don't think that's a good idea." Brooke said trying to walk away

"Brooke I know this is awkward but can we just be friends, I want to be friends." He said stopping her in her tracks

"You want to be friends?" She asked hoping for clarity

"Yes." He said shortly

"Okay fine you can help." Brooke said 

"but no flirting ...friends that's it." She continued

"Fine I can try but I can't promise you anything." She said putting up his hands surrendering
