Valarie was so scared. She just wanted to go home and I can see that. It was really late and she was sleeping. She’s so beautiful, she doesn’t deserve this. I kissed her on the cheek and let her sleep.

My eyes opened, it was late. I looked over at the clock and it was 3:14 in the morning. I got up trying not to disturb Kyle. Picked up the heavy ball and leant close to my feet and started taking little steps. I walk into the other room where Daniel and Maddy were. Maddy was still awake. Val, what are you doing? Get back into bed, you’re going to wake him and he’ll ‘punish you’ please. I shook my head and walked closer to her, still holding my heavy ball. I’ve got a plan, trust me. I walked away, and went to the other side of the bed where Daniel was. His clothes were on the floor. The ones we wore when we first came had the key in them. I looked up, he had them on. Still. I take up all the courage I had in me. And slid my hand into his left pocket. I felt the key; I could feel it with my fingertips. I had gotten it and
I slid my hand back out and put it in my top pocket.
