I just stayed silent. I'm happy and surprised of course since they actually took time to throw me a surprise party? But then...my annoyance towards Newt is still there I mean he ignored and avoided me for three days!

Thomas noticed my unsual behavior that he stepped forward "What? Were you expecting something more grand?" he asks and I slapped him in the arm and he let out a yelp. "Shut up you shank! Thanks Guys! You shouldn't have bothered."

Well Gally still blames me for the lack of supplies and that's when I noticed he isn't around. "Where's Gally?" I asked no one in particular "In the pit, he doesn't agree with all this birthday surprise thing. He thinks it'll just waste more food and time" Minho answers.

I knew it. Oh well, Gally isn't here to ruin my day and I guess that's a good thing. "Okay! Let's eat breakfast! All that walking in the woods made me hungry" Teresa says as she walks to grab some food.

Breakfast was great but something's still missing alright. Or maybe someone. Urgh! you're still mad at him Y/N!

I shook the thought away and decided to just enjoy the rest of the day. My day rather.

"Time to give the birthday girl her presents!" Chuck half screamed making me choke on my water. Thomas rubbed my back trying to help me recover as I coughed. Minho just chuckled, That shank!

"Maybe not so loud next time Chuck" Newt says and for some reason, I tensed up when I heard his voice. It's been three days after all.

Chuck smiled sheepishly and mouthed sorry and I just nodded with a smile. "You heard the man boys! Bring out your presents!" Alby says with a huge smile when he saw Chuck turn a bit red when he called him a man and called the rest of the gladers boys.

I stared in shock as the gladers fell in line all of them bringing something. I kept on saying Thanks and Thank You So Much and You shouldn't have bothered to all of them as they gave me their presents one by one.

There were ponytails, towels, a bracelet from Tommy, A small wooden figure of a girl from Chuck, a map of the glade from Minho that I rolled my eyes at him when he gave it to me.

Alby gives me his present which was a new shirt and then it was Newt's turn.

I didn't know what to do...should I say "Hey!" or just be neutral. I decided to go for the second option.

He clears his throat and grabbed the guitar. "Remember my promise Y/N? That one day it will be my turn to play the guitar and sing for you?" he says. I frowned and nodded. He smiles "Today's the day. Happy Birthday Y/N"

He clears his throat before he starts strumming. My eyes widened at the tune.

There I was again tonight forcing laughter, faking smiles

Shifting eyes and vacancy vanished when I saw your face

I just watched him as he focused on his strumming. Is Newt actually singing? For me?

He plays the last note on the guitar and that's when he looked back at me. I blinked several times and smiled. A genuine one.

"Let me guess, you've been ignoring and avoiding me for three days...for this" I asked with an amused smile.

He smiles sheepishly and rubs the back of his neck "Yeah...sorry about that. You probably hate me" he says and I walked to him for a hug.

I heard Thomas protest but Minho and Alby shushed him. I smiled and whispered "You're forgiven"
