Jessie's POV

I wake up from my half-asleep state. I wish I could get another hour or so but I know it won't happen. I groan and pull myself out of bed and go downstairs.

I'm almost blinded by the sun, "It's stop raining!" My mum shouts as I walk in the kitchen.

"I can tell, i'm going back to bed" I turn on my heel and bump into a bare-chest Danny. God, he's so hot. My mum's phone rings and she goes outside to answer it.

"Hey- sorry" I say, this time more confident with my speech. I step around him.

"THE LIGHT, IT BURNS" He fake cries, walking past me further in the living room.

My mum comes back in rushing around, what's happened?

"Your fathers ill, I have to go and see him" my heart sinks and my face looses colour and my mum notices, "don't worry darling, he's fine! Just a little bug, now are you coming with me?"

I don't know whether I want to go, I don't want to go out in front of people just yet. But I don't want to be left in the same house as Danny for God knows how long. I shake my head and I notice Danny's face drop in the corner of my eye, was he sick of me being around?

My mum goes upstairs to pack and Danny goes into the room whilst I remain frozen. Just stay away from the alcohol...

I go upstairs and shower, practically jumping out as soon as I have finished. I go back downstairs after and see my Mum ready to leave and Danny slouched on the sofa.

"Are you sure you don't want to come?" I shake my head, "I'll be back tomorrow at early afternoon" I fake a smile as I hug her goodbye.

"I hope Dads okay" I just manage to get out.

She says her goodbyes to Danny before leaving. The door shuts and I feel tears welling up in my eyes. Don't cry in front of Danny, don't!

Before I could think, tears starting falling from my face and Danny had noticed. He walks over and pulls me into a tight hug. Stay calm, Jess. His arms wrap around my waist and his big hands rest on my lower back. Mine go around the back of his neck. He seems shocked that i'm hugging him back and it lasts longer than it should.

"He'll be fine" He whispers in my ear and his irish accent became much more deeper than usual. We both pulled away and I wiped away my tears.

He turned the TV on and went to make a cup of tea. I sat on the sofa and he came in two minutes later with two mugs of tea. He sat next to me after he placed his mug on the coffee table. He began flicking through the channels.

He's sat so close and he smells amazing.

I look back at the TV and smile, Maybe now we can be friends.
