Living in Massachusetts was boring.

Our town was boring. There was nothing to do. Or, more specifically, there was no one to do. Zoey wasn't calling me back, Axel was taking babysitting his younger brother (despite the fact that his brother was only one year younger than him) and Matt was not picking up his phone.

It was pretty pathetic that I had no social life, even though one would think that someone as good looking as me would have a pretty exciting life.

"Ryder!" My mom called from downstairs.

Rolling my eyes, I decided to just wait. If it was really important, my mother could come upstairs and get me.

It was 2 o'clock in the afternoon and I was still in bed. Nothing was worth getting up for.

Or so I thought.

Glancing out my window, I saw there was a moving truck and two women standing in front of the house.

The first woman was probably in her 30's, with light blonde hair and a small figure. The second woman caught my eye.

A better word was girl. She looked like she was my age, with dark brown hair. She had a sweet looking face, that instantly made me want to get a closer look.

Jumping out of bed, I made sure my appearance looked good-but not like I was trying to hard. Like I was naturally good looking.

Marching down the stairs, I glanced at my mother who had her hands on her hips and was giving me a stern look like I was 11 years old and already proposing to a girl with a Ring Pop. True story, I'd always been a ladies man.

"You look like you just rolled out of bed."

Walking past her, I picked up an apple from the kitchen and bit into it. "Good morning, mom."

Mom snatched the apple out of my hand and threw it in the trash. "You know that it's 2 in the afternoon, right?"

I tried to give my mom a charming smile. I was her sweet little boy, the smile always worked.

True to past knowledge, my mom ruffled my hair and explained the situation of the new neighbors.

They were mother and daughter, moving from some town in Virginia, and the daughter was indeed my age.

We both headed outside, and went to greet the neighbors. The blonde woman was named Samantha Boyce and yes, her very attractive daughter was my age and named Amber.

As if one cue, Amber came out.

Mom instantly latched onto her. "Oh, it's so nice to have some new neighbors!" She squealed, pulling Amber against her.

Amber looked a little freaked out, but she still hugged her back.

Mom let go and turned to glare at me, while I was checking Amber out. "Say. Hello," she hissed.

Raising my eyebrows, I tried to look nonchalant. "What's up?" I asked, not really caring. I just wanted to keep staring at her long legs, which looked great in her shorts.

She looked at me with disapproval, which just made me grin. She seemed so naive, that I knew she would be fun to toy with. We had a staring contest before she turned to look at my mother who was talking about some dinner.

I kept staring at Amber until I heard my name. "-Ryder loves to cook!"

Feeling my cheeks heat up, I finally dragged my mother away before she could do more harm.

As soon as we entered the house, my mother started freaking out about making a good impression. She started cleaning the house and demanded for me to start cooking. Luckily for me, I had always been a great cook.

Time flew past as I cooked the dishes for our dinner. My apron that Matt gave me for Christmas was now stained.

The thing that broke me out of my cooking trance was a small giggle. Whirling around, I saw that it was just Amber.

She looked so good and innocent in her jean skirt and cowboy boots that I couldn't help but tease her. "Something funny, sunshine?" I asked, trying to look irritated.

I was also a decent actor.

I walked towards her and pinned her against the table. Still, she kept eye contact, which was a pleasant surprise. "Nothing," she said, in a teasing tone, "your apron is just funny."

Rolling my eyes at her, I responded, "what, you're only here, like, four hours and you're already trying to seduce me?"

At the word 'seduce' her eyes widened and she blushed, shoving me away from her. "N-no! I, uh-Ah, forget it!" She huffed, stomping away in her cowboy boots.

I couldn't help but laugh at her.

Dinner went smoothly with my mom and Samantha doing most of the talking. After, I went to the living room and thought of more ways to mess with Amber.

My phone buzzed in my pocket and I rolled my eyes when I saw that it was only Zoey texting me a picture of her in a bikini three sizes too small.

"Who you sexting?" Amber suddenly asked, moving closer to me.

"My girlfriend."

She sprung away from me. I looked up and smirked at her. "I'm kidding, miss oh-so-innocent."

Her shoulders relaxed and she looked more comfortable. If only she knew.

"So, what's there to do around here?"

I opened my mouth to respond when Axel texted me a picture of Zoey sucking face with some guy. Seriously? Right while she was sending me nudes? The whole thing put me in a bad mood. "Find out yourself," I muttered to Amber.

Amber still didn't waver. "How's school going?"

Glaring at her, I chose to ignore that. "What are you? My mom?" Then I went back to my phone and scrolled through it. I needed a distraction and Temple Run looked pretty appealing.

"Don't you know that it's rude to text while guests are over?"

"I'm not texting, I'm playing Temple Run."
