Star awoke with a start realizing she had fallen asleep Marco still in her arms she watched the tired looking boy he looked like he was having a nightmare so she clung to him kissing his forehead the bruises on his face turned blue with small shades of purple she never wanted to let go of Marco even though she knew eventually he would have to go to get treated by toffee she never wanted to let him out of her sight she didn't realize until now that new tears formed in her eyes and she dug her fingers into his arms

"I-I love you Marco...... Please don't die on me" she whispered she buried her head now in his chest this was an uncomfortable state for her but she clung like this holding his body firmly in her grasp she felt him stir an almost whispered moan escaped his mouth making her think she had imagined it

Blood dripped from his mouth from this sign she grew scared and almost excited realizing he was closer to consciousness but that didn't mean he couldn't still slip away and walk to the light with heavy feet

At this time star only wished she had her wand so she could cure him herself in seconds her eyes were drawn up from his sweater as a flickering light caught her attention the light almost blinding and she immediately became protective over Marco's faint body she overlooked the glass case that held them to the hall that led to toffee's space

"Don't worry Marco I'll protect you" she whispered in his ear giving the space behind his ear a light kiss she stood tall letting Marco's body sit on the cold metal floor right behind her her eyes filled with anticipation and determination she wanted nothing more than to hold Marco comfortably on her back while she fought off the threat but knew that that might make things worse for both of them

She didn't even notice the pain in her legs until now maybe it was from squatting all night on the floor or maybe it was something else something she didn't realize before

She still didn't know exactly what toffee wanted from her but she wasn't going to let him hurt her or Marco the light shown brighter and a giant explosion sounded through the entire castle star fell to the ground covering her ears she closed her eyes tightly not really wanting to face the threat that stood before her she kept her eyes shut tight and her hands over her ears

Another sound piercing noise filled the huge castle followed by a scream and more bright lights filled the halls star moved back to Marco and held him again her body shivered her eyes glued shut

A strong blast of light filled the opposing room almost like her narwhal blast filled the air and star took a peek now to see a shadowed man walking towards the cage she moved closer to the wall the cloaks he wore and the light blinded her way of telling who this mysterious person was her eyes went wide......
